If you're like me, you enjoy playing Gran Turismo for fun. Where does fun come from? The creators of the BBT believed that it came from diverse challenges in a friendly, competitive environment.
What is the BBT?
The BBT is a weekly event that tests your ability to build and race cars over three tests: a 1/4 Mile drag race and two road courses. Each week has a different theme and budget. All challenges run independently from each other - each week is a new challenge with no carry-overs.
Players who don't have the Test Track DLC can participate but will automatically be ranked T-Last on the 1/4 Mile.
How is this different from the Budget Car Challenge
The BBT focuses on shorter competitions. Since each week's event is standalone, you can participate as often or sporadically as you want.
Another bonus is that, since there is no long-term connection to a car, the themes and challenges will be generally more 'out-there', which means that you can take risks and try things you wouldn't in a long-term event.
The Rules
There are only two universal rules:
-Your car must be within the budget and any other restrictions
-Laps must be clean (ie. they cannot be invalidated in any way)
Points are scored based on this system, reproduced in verbatim from the last iteration of the BBT.
Submitting Times
Simply complete this form and PM it to me. I won't look at it until I'm compiling times at the end of the week.
THIS WEEK'S EVENT: Why My Car Sucks
After taxes, my car came out to $22,000 all-in. It's decent value, but I know I could've gotten something better. Use my budget to build any car you want.
Budget: 22,000cr
Track 1: Deep Forest
Track 2: London
Track 3: 1/4 Mile
Other Restrictions: No Skid Recovery Force
Due date: Monday, April 2, Midnight EST
Stories are strongly encouraged
ADDITIONAL RULES/NOTES:
The honour system is used. If anyone takes exception to the times posted or the legality of the car, they can protest. However, there will be no central scrutineering unless an entrant openly breaks the rules (ie. out of budget, wrong track, etc.)
Cars need to be bought using in-game cash. In GT4, there was a consistent ratio of sale price compared to the car's cost in a dealership (4x). If there is something like that in GT5 that is accurate 100% of the time, it will be considered in the future.

Just to give some Insight on how I calculate the points.
First I will do the Drag Strip Times.
I will Rank the Times from Lowest to Highest.
1st Place gets 1 point
2nd gets 2 points
3rd gets 3 points...
Then I will do the first Course the same way followed by the second.
So that leaves me with the following
Ranks and Points from Drag Strip
Ranks and Points from Course #1
Ranks and Points from Course #2
Example Results
Drag Strip
Chuck 1st 1 Point
Bill 2nd 2 Points
Emily 3rd 3 Points
Course #1
Emily 1st 1 Point
Chuck 2nd 2 Points
Bill 3rd 3 Points
Course #2
Emily 1st 1 Point
Chuck 2nd 2 Points
Bill 3rd 3 Points
Then I list the competitors and all of their points
Chuck 1-2-2
Bill 2-3-3
Emily 3-1-1
Now, I also count each track time double, making the Challenges more weighted toward Course Driving Skill than just car building and flying down the strip so once the Course Results are doubled it would look like this:
Chuck 1-2-2-2-2
Bill 2-3-3-3-3
Emily 3-1-1-1-1
Then I would total the points
Chuck 9pts
Bill 14pts
Emily 7pts
Lowest Score Wins
Thats how I do it.
