Massive update: I've managed to achieve what I wanted with the help of Razorman. Using his explaination of how his save editor works I gained enough understanding to be able to effectively "hand edit" the save file using another unrelated application and modify the aspects I wanted so there's no need for him to have to update save editor now.

Like you said, I'm sure he's a busy guy, ideally doesn't want to have to dig out some old source code and work on it for very low demand so maybe he will add it in the future or not but either way he's still been super helpful so kudos to him. 👏

Glad you got that sorted! Lately, I've been tempted to document what parts of the save do what, so I can edit whatever the editor doesn't currently support. I still hope for the feature to edit what events have been completed to get added to the editor, though, since it'll be much more user-friendly for those who want to do it.

I have downloaded the GT5 Save Editor v0.0.11.1 but when I try to open it I get the following error text "Unable to read the database. It seems to be corrupted."

I am currently on GT5 2.17 but I have not even got as far as adding the save file to the USB flash drive yet because of the above. I have tried running the program as an administrator and I believe I am on the latest .NET Framework because when I try to install .NET Framework 4.8.1 it says ".NET Framework 4.8.1 or a later update is already installed on this computer."

I don't think it's related to the .NET Framework, thankfully. Do you have the file GT5Database.db in the same directory as the editor?

Do you mean in the same folder? If so then yes.
Yes, I do. I can't say I have an answer for this. I'll speak to the creator.

One thing I want to ask is, is your virus protection disabled? Not sure if that'll help, but it's the only thing I can think of.

I have tried with virus protection disabled and it still doesn't work. I'm using Windows 11 via Parallels. Does that matter?

I can't say I know what you're talking about, but I think it does matter because the editor is probably not meant to run on it.

So it looks like I can't get the DLC then as I only have a MacBook? I can use some of the other GT5 Garage Editors but they don't allow you to add DLC right?

I don't know because this is unexplored territory for me since I don't have a MacBook. I want to say someone has done this before, but I don't remember if they have or not.

Contrary to what some may say, no, there's not another save editor for GT5 that allows you to get all the DLC.

If you upload your save game, I'll be more than happy to install them for you. I can PM you about it if you want to keep this private.

Yes if could please PM me that would be great.

Obviously it's best to ask the developer, he was really friendly and helpful to me so hopefully you'll find your answer.

I'm not sure however from what I think I read somewhere that game saves 2.17+ are not fully supported by some save editors cos I think they changed the structure of the save file.

He's a busy person, though, and doesn't get on GTP much these days. He's been really quiet the past couple of days and hasn't spoken much at all lately.

Razerman's GT5 Save Editor CAN read save games from that update, it's GE 1.3.1 that can't, according to some reports I have read.

Sometimes I forget things too. Just last night, I accidently handed some things back to my brother that I had gotten from him, and I had to dig them out again.

I'll build you a version with better logging tomorrow. Hopefully it'll shed some light as to what's causing the error. If you by any chance have Discord, it would be easier to debug this there (my username there is xfilefin). If not, that's fine too.

Edit:
v0.0.12.0: https://mega.nz/folder/A5YkCQBL#-0vFIDotSvO1JM-V0gkLzw/folder/IsIkxLpT

@FullLoader Can you test with the v0.0.12.0 and after trying to open the app, tell me what's inside the error.log?
@StigTurismo Main tab now has A-Spec Points and B-Spec Points. If you change to a higher level, it should also increase the points to the the minimum amount required for that level (unless you have more).
