Let's build up a classics database! Nominate a song, any genre - any year. And we'll debate if it belongs in the GTPlanet Musical Classics Database.

Guidelines:
-- Just sporadically nominate songs, but don't clog the thread! Just nominate one every so often.
-- When a song is nominated, there may not be other nominations until the votes are in.
-- 5 well argumentated votes can get a song in or out the database.
-- When a song has been added to the database, or if there has been decided not to add a certain nomination to the database, and the votes are in + the debate is over, the thread will be open again to new nominations.

Well, if it isn't a classic yet, it's definitely one in the making! It's used a lot in movies - and generally speaking you just hear it everywhere. And it just does not get boring.

It gets my vote ;) It kinda is a classic in the dance genre after all these years I can still appreciate it!

One every so often, but we were still debating on Olive & ATB - You're Not Alone. We haven't got an outcome yet! I'd say... another 4 votes, and it's in the database. I'll set up some basic guidelines. :)
 
I've never heard of that song... Maybe I'll download it to sample it, but it's just not the same on MP3...
 
So you've changed it fromm 9 more to 4 more?

Uh, I guess it's an okay song, when I was into techno a while ago I used to listen to it a bit. All ATB is pretty much great and this song isn't an exception. 3 out of 5.

READ THE THREAD RULES PEOPLE!!!!

Stop nominating new songs until we've reached a conclusion on the first nomination, that for You're not alone

When it first came out, this record was a real breath of fresh air. It modified trance keyboard work to sound almost like classical strings, a technique now much aped. The vocal is simple and haunting, and combines well with the instrumental work to create a song which is simultaneously blissful and stirring. It's a definite landmark, and for all these reasons I nominate it classic
 
I think the problem with the thread is that it's slow-going to get nominations for any particular song; literally 5-10 members have to keep checking up on it.

It's a great idea in theory, but in practice...the numerous threads on other bands/songs/albums just might have to do.

In any case: Never heard of the song, can't offer much of an opinion.
