apparently they're too damn stupid to put the additional accessories in the damn box. i need a stupid charger for my iPod Touch, and i open the box and all i see os the manual, the dust cloth, and the headphones and USB plug, but no charger. I payed $223.45 for a new iPod and i don't get a charger. wtf am i supposed to do? use it for one day and throw it away? i'm not wasting another $10.00 on a charger for this thing when i have 3 that this expensive shingle wont freaking recognize as a charger. i really hope that Apple can think properly next time and just cram the F-ing box with good stuff. hell, my next iPod, and everybody else's next iPod should come with keys to a brand new Gallardo LP560-4. if not, i'm going to Cupertino, California myself to kick their nerdy asses.

1. You really NEED to get back on your meds.

2. They give you a manual, that is mostly pictures, for a device with virtually 1 moving part (the lock thingy) any you STILL can't figure it out.
I think that I'd agree with Giles Guthrie, but I fear that I don't want to insult the simpletons.

I still have one from my old 15GB iPod, but it was when they were all firewire plugs. Those do not work with most of the new models. If I had to guess I would say it appears to be the new models with tilt sensors.

When I plug it into my new Nano the screen says that charging will not work with it.

Oddly, mine wouldn't charge from USB, so I had to buy a firewire/USB splitter cabel that had both connectors coming off the iPod plug on separate wires. It was the only way I could charge and connect to the PC at the same time.

On the new ones, there are 3 moving parts Lock button, Home button and volume switch.

Now why someone would buy one? See my lengthy review, but in short I purchased mine for the PDA functions and mobile web rather than capacity, though I have the largest capacity one as well. And the much larger screen makes watching anime with subtitles meaningful.

Not for as long as I can recall. Always used the USB transfer cable to charge, and you'd just buy AC to USB adapters to charge, or similar.
But if you got it for listening to music primarily, yeah, wrong iPod to get.

Excuses. Nobody asked me at all, but you've made several exceedingly... silly threads. ADD or not, you are not making a solid impression, on anyone. Though you do provide some amusing antics. ADD also doesn't justify hostility, or your attempt to justify you have a life. Trolls can have lives, just means you make threads and posts in an attempt to incite flame style responses because of the inane nature of said post.

Apple gave you a charger, it that sync cable. They haven't bundled an AC charger with anything but the iPhone in ages, last I checked. It is clearly labeled what is included on the back of the box. Dock adapter, USB cable, iPod touch, manual, and cleaning cloth (with 1G iPod touches).

You just paid, at least, $240 for a device. I think you can spare $20 for an AC to USB adapter. If not, you could cut back on buying vintage fire alarms.

For the reasons you stated, I could just about see using the touch as a PDA. But for that I would almost go the "whole hog" and get an intelligent phone like the iPhone or the Google G1.
My current phone (Nokia 5310 Xpress Music) is a music player, calendar, camera, alarm, note keeper, message center, oh and I occasionally use it to call my wife. And it's not much bigger than my 1st gen Nano.
Granted the memory is only expandable to 4GB...
And I haven't tried to watch anime on it, though it will download music videos...
As for having 3 moving parts vs. one moving part still means that it is a pretty simple device. Simpler still when the owner bothers to RTFM.

Well, I am on Verizon and my step mom insists on keeping me on that plan so she can keep track of me. So free phone versus $90+ a month on AT&T with an iPhone. It would be nice but I can't justify the cost of moving over. Plus wifi is available almost everywhere in a college town. On top of that, it is handy to be able to check something on iPod touch while on the phone.

Honestly, when I was looking at getting my iPod touch, the other considerations were an eeePC or a Creative player. It just came down to what would be cheaper and could fit in my pocket.

Sansa Clip. I just got a 1GB model for running and all that for $10. And I won't care if I trip and break it or something. There is also the Shuffle and Nano for those types of things from Apple...

Lots companies don't bundle wall chargers. My Creative Zen Vision:M didn't come with a wall charger and neither did my other small MP3 Player. Its not just Apple.

I'm broke and haven't been able to buy anything for a while. the iPod i saved up for a long time. the money was originally going to go to a brand-new explosion-proof strobe, but i decided that the iPod would be better. my dad doesn't want to admit he has money, since he's so freaking stingy.

only one of my fire alarms is vintage. i don't buy old stuff, unless you still see them being used regularly today.

The excuses bit was aimed at your ADD claim and attempting to justify your rather poor behavior with it. Not money. On money, don't buy things when you can't afford what you also want with it, when it is clearly labeled what you are getting.

And the point of collecting is generally to obtain vintage type items, or things that will be of value later. Excuse me for me confusing "fire alarm collector" with "only collects new fire alarms" or whatever you are claiming.
