Unless you've been under a rock since Wednesday night, you have heard about the 1.15 update. As part of that, PD will be adjusting the prices of various cars in the Legend Cars (Hagerty's) dealership beginning with each car's next appearance. In addition to the 9 cars that, prior to the update, had an up-arrow, another 3 cars had one applied (including one that sold out hours before the update), and 1 had its arrow flipped from a down-arrow to an up-arrow. In addition, there was 1 other car that had a down-arrow.

The prices of a new engine and body (which, respectively, are 50% and 120% of the cost of a car) were adjusted to meet the new price. Strangely, 1 of the 9 cars that had an up-arrow didn't have its engine/body prices increased, while the 1 that kept its down-arrow had its price decreased. The other 12 cars that either had or gained an up-arrow had their engine/body prices increased.

The bad news is @NDFong found several cars that didn't have an arrow attached to them in their previous appearance(s) in Hagerty's that also had the costs of a new engine/body increase, including the delayed 1992 Ferrari F40. I decided to go through the 30 Hagerty's cars I do own and check the prices of a new engine/body (at least for those that have them available), and found much the same thing.

Using that info, the info from @NDFong, a bunch of info I got from @Pizzicato1985, some info from @Grimm6Jack, and some info from someone who prefers to remain anonymous, I created a table of the coming price increases. It's a work in progress only because not all 62 cars have reappeared after the 1.15 update. In the table below, if the entry is underlined, it has reappeared after the 1.15 update.

Of the 62 cars available in Hagerty's:
  • 36 will go up/have gone up in price, including 24 that had no arrow either before or immediately after the 1.15 update, 3 that gained that up-arrow only after the 1.15 update (including 1 that sold out hours before said update), and 1 that had a down-arrow flipped up by the 1.15 update
  • 24 will stay/stayed the same (including 1 that previously had an up-arrow)
  • 2 will go down/have gone down in price (1 of the 2 that had a down-arrow before the 1.15 update, 1 that had no arrow)
  • The estimated total price increase is 10,662,900 Cr. (4.08%)
Major edit history:
  • 6:50 pm CDT 5/28 - Inadvertently added a zero to the Skyline's price.
  • 7:03 pm CDT 5/28 - Added the current price of the Sauber Mercedes C9 (no change from the pre-1.15 price)
  • 7:22 pm CDT 5/28 - Forgot the 500 Mondial was re-added on Thursday night (no change from the pre-1.15 price)
  • 8:10 pm CDT 5/28 - Got a boatload of info from @Pizzicato1985
  • 8:45 pm CDT 5/28 - Changed the 1952 300 SL, 250 GTO and 330 P4 back to UNKNOWN, and got engine/body info for the XJ13 (no change from the pre-1.15 price)
  • 7:30 am CDT 5/29 - Thanks to @Grimm6Jack, I completed the estimation portion of the project. Now all we have to do is wait for confirmation inside Hagerty's and prices for the 12 cars that don't have either a new engine or a new body available.
  • 3:06 pm CDT 5/29 - Fixed a typo in the DB3S line (didn't change the calculations because the typo was only here, not on the spreadsheet I use to sum the increases)
  • 8:00 pm CDT 5/29 - The first of the "sticker-shockers" is now in Hagerty's (the 1994 McLaren McLaren F1), and its price is exactly as predicted. The kicker is that it has a fresh up-arrow, suggesting that its August price is going to break the 20,000,000 Cr. barrier.
  • 12:35 pm CDT 5/31 - Cars that have reappeared after the 1.15 update at their new prices are now underlined in the chart below, and added a "chart last updated" line. Until each of the 12 remaining cars for which prices cannot be estimated shows up, an estimation is wrong, or another typo is discovered, this should be the last entry in the major edit history section.
  • 5:20 pm CDT 6/6 - I got a line on the pending prices of the 12 cars that do not have either a new body or a new engine available. That source has requested anonymity. Unless there is an error in estimation, or until all 62 cars have reappeared at their new price, this will be the last entry in the major edit history section.

The fact that they withheld the F40 from the normal Hagerty rotation before the update just to increase the price shows you PD's position on this. Gotta keep milking the MTX cow somehow

Meanwhile,
  • Still can't sell cars
  • Still only 4 viable grinding events (and the broken FFB makes the driving even less enjoyable)
  • Custom race and online payouts still pitiful
  • Daily roulettes still a slap in the face every single time
  • Still no login bonus
  • Still no bonus for using lower PP than opponents like in GT Sport
  • Still no seasonal events
  • Only 1 time trial every 2 weeks (GT Sport had 2). We don't know how much the payouts will be, but probably peanuts as well (EDIT: first TT is now finished and no rewards given).

GG Kaz 👍

Ahh yes, 6 million more reasons to be discouraged. I'm glad that the event is happening weekly now otherwise I may not play.

I just did a nurburgring 7 lap race in a gr.4 against gt3s. I ended up getting second and 69,000cr for over an hours play time.

Back on topic, I'm glad I tomahawk'd what I did. I'd be so much more discouraged starting out fresh now than compared to before.

Honestly, what benefit to the players does this tie in have? This faux 'exclusivity' is just a nonsense, you can get as much credits as you can be bothered grinding for - the only difference with this tie in now is you'll need more as we are following real life for some reason.
It felt like a gimmick that they are putting in order to be unique, but as we all can see it fell flat.

They're probably making people hate Hagerty lmao

Was not to bad with price increases, i am going to be slighly hit to buy McLarens F1 and Ford gt40 road car, but will still buy them have 24 mil so will be ready once they appear

I think you might wanna double check the numbers on that DB3S... if the original price tag was 5M and it's still 5M, that's a difference of 0 rather than 5M.

All these spreadsheets just to keep up with the in-game economy, you’d think it was an iconic Ubisoft pre-order scheme and ’X’ edition chart.

How much EUR/USD is 6,337,900 Cr in microcredits? Instead of pressing out their players as lemons, PD'd better solve the issues first!

And as Hagerty bases their selling price on the price of comparable cars recently sold, Hagerty has the moral responsibility to urge PD into giving their players a similar price when players do sell their cars. The brand Hagerty did not say me much until GT7, but it did get a seriously negative connotation meanwhile.

What are chances of a car going beyond 20 million at this point? Unless there's something in the code preventing this...

At this point you can make money fairly easy so its pointless to buy mtx

lol just in case you forgot where PD's priorities lie.

It's particularly fascinating because there's seemingly no basis for much of it (beyond to line PD's pockets), despite some insisting that it was a great idea that added realism somehow when it was first announced. Dynamically priced based on what? Major price increases based on what? Have any Alfa Romeo TZ2's sold recently at auction since this "feature" was announced for the game? Any GT40s? Has the single and only Lamborghini Miura prototype in existence changed hands so now we know it's worth 40% more than it was a week ago?

Can the 917K have a new body/engine? If yes I can check how much it changed later today.

The 300 SL W194 got it's price increased from 11.000.000 to 13.000.000 (2 million more).

So it's over 8 million at this point.

At $20 per 2M, $60 for 6M. Add another $10 for 750k for the remainder, or $7.50 for 250k + 100k.

Yes, an increase of about $70 in MTX. The price of a new copy of GT7 or any other first party PS5 game.
Make it $90 (don't ask me about conversions to Euros, Pounds, or Canadian dollars), give or take the 12 cars for which we cannot estimate any increase in price. I added another 2,000,000 Cr. in scheduled increases (all from the 1952 300 SL W194).

It can have at least a new body. @Grimm6Jack sent me the info.

Surely you can't be serious. With the neutering of the Tomahawk Tokyo rain exploit, the fastest one can make money is about 1,650,000 Cr. per hour by legitimately doing that Tokyo race. There are only 5 other ways to get at least 1,000,000 Cr. per hour, only 1 of the 6 total ways doesn't involve either weather or jumps in dirt, and only the 2 jump-in-the-dirt ones don't involve spending at least 25 minutes on a single race, hoping you don't blow the 50% clean race bonus.

With that said, buying MTX is, in my opinion, an idiot's move, rewarding PD/Sony for bad behavior.

I already do because of Cammisa. I absolutely despise these fit, Abercrombie&Fitch polo shirt wearing types who have dominated automotive journalism as of late.

Also blame Aston Martin for their sudden interest in remembering their glory days before impending electrification.

Well, this is gonna suck for new players, because these prices aren't going down any time soon. 20 years from now in GT10 all of these cars would cost 20 million or further, lol.

At least my main priority (McLaren) hasn't increased much, and won't increase further than 20 million anyway... for now.

Hagerty is an insurance company and they price their services based on their perceived value of each car, which is based on how the market's going for the car and presumably how expensive it is to maintain the car. Basically a rich people's Allianz or Mapfre.

So Hagerty maintains a list of prices and that's what the game's basing its prices on. Call it a metaverse feature, if you will. A bad one.

I'd be curious to find out if Hagerty would be bothered by the negative impact of this news if a gaming website was to report on it...

I take it you grew up on the writings of Yates, Csere, Bedard, and the 1980s/early 1990s version of Ed. Cammisa's biggest problem is that, unlike the guy he tries so hard to be, he has no Clarkson or May to keep him somewhat grounded.

As a famous Aston Martin (with modificiations) driver once said, "Shocking. Positively shocking."
