The insomnia thread; What's keeping you awake tonight?

I'm completely nocturnal. I can sleep much better during the day than at night, direct daylight makes me feel tired and lethargic.
I also love to go out for a walk at 3 am and I at night I can see much better than the average person. (At night I can navigate through dense forest without tripping or getting lost even when there is no moon)

And I'm not even joking.

I just can't be bothered today. And I had just turned my day around to normal hours and everything.

Oh well, much more fun to listen to good music than to to sleep.

Tonight? My feelings, probably going to cry myself to sleep tonight. Very emotional right now.

11:39 P.M. over here... I would be in bed already, I'm very sleepy right now. But I have to stay awake until midnight so I can get an appointment for Friday, which are given in a website and are only valid for a day...

I'm too hungry to fall asleep, and I'm too tired to bother getting food.

:I

I know there will be studies proving the effects both ways, but it is believe that alcohol reduces REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, or dream sleep. Anyway, a couple of beers before bed always helps me :)

I'm pretty sure some studies suggest that REM sleep is actually the point of least rest you get during sleep.

I might be misremembering, though.

I won't pretend I'm an insomniac, but my sleep schedule's been screwed lately. I'm applying to be an RA at uni next year, and I left the application to the last night (3 Thursdays ago). I was up all night finishing it and then got 90mins of sleep on the plane ride back home for my reading week/spring break. I stayed up late again with my brother, then slept until 1PM. Spent the whole break sleeping until 1PM and going to bed at 5AM. First week of classes was rough, but I should be good to go for next week.

Slept well. 9 and a half hour.
Normally it's between 7 and 8 hours without waking up during the night.

I've always been a good sleeper except when I suffering from the very severe clinical drepressions. I could not even close keep my eyes closed, literally. The opened automatically. I had to force my eyelids down all the time. Stupid disease!

14 days ago, I slept 11 and a half hour. From 7pm till 6:30am.
