This thread is devoted to one of the most grueling racing events, not to mention one of the most classic events- the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. Some Tourist Trophy players (as in the PS2 game "Tourist Trophy") would have liked to see this 33+ mile course on public roads (let's face it. Some people think like is too short for decent-length GP courses), but there hasn't really been a number of games to capture this event and all the classes which race the Isle of Man. Allow me to introduce this track to the uninitiated.
While the track is "stupidly long," it is also one of the grandest events in motorcycle racing. Different variations of motorcycles compete on this long course. This course consists of public city roads as well as a trip into the mountains. It is a trip from Bray Hill to Governor's Bridge. Many of the roads are narrow with no guardrails like on a regular street course. So doing well on these roads becomes not only a good fit for motorcycles, but also a worthy challenge for anyone who has the endurance and can stay on pace to win. There are certain displacements of motorcycles including some sidecar racing. I would imagine that sidecar racing is a bit more crucial since you have two competitors keeping the vehicles on all... threes. This course can be thought of as the 24 Hours at the Nürburgring for motorcycles except for the 24-hour deal.
If this year's events will take place soon, consider this a thread to discuss this year's event. If the event has already taken place, you are free to talk about the event in general. I learned that I'm late to the Isle of Man party. In fact, I'm VERY late. This year's events took place between 5/27/2006 to 6/2/2006, so I'll post a link featuring all the results. In fact, you can find it here:

The official site of the whole deal is: http://www.iomtt.com/
Let's do Isle of Man! By the way, read the website I listed above because there may be concerns about getting the 2007 version of the Isle of Man TT (the 100th year of the race) in and complete. More info here: { http://www.iomtt.com/blogs/tt_news/archive/2006/06/20/59188.aspx }. Now let's do Isle of Man! Remember that this thread is about ANYTHING general of the Isle of Man TT from race events to history to classic moments. So give it a go. Twist the grip and let's ride!
