Has anyone seen the new K750. Its an update to the successful K700 and has a 2 mega pixel camera, 38mb internal memory with memory card expansion basicly everything the K700 has and more.
I think this phone looks brilliant and gets a big thumbs up 👍

Yes it is good, but you'd be better getting the W800. It's exactly the same, except it comes with a 512 Mb memory stick and the ability to use the phone as an mp3 player even when the phone is turned off. And it's white and orange, which is cool.

NOTE: I kinda accidently went on an on and ended up writing a review.....a very bad one! If you want to know abit more about the phone feel free to trawl through the next few paragraphs!

I just got this phone about 3 weeks ago and boy is it amazing! Ive always loved how the partnership of Sony and Ericsson was such a success.......bring the phone tech and cool gagetry together......I had a T610 before and it was really ahead of its time with a 65k screen and bluetooth aswell as lots of business type features such as sync and organizer stuff.......I think that phone had one of the longest self lives being sold still now for quite a high price...The k750i took alot of styling cues from the T610 and is in essence its proper replacement. I really feel that the K750i will have just as long a legacy with such up to date features...

The K750i has the same (I feel best ever UI) Sony Ericsson menu structure with vivid icons and well laid out menus.....the OS apeals because of its likeness to a computer OS......I never liked Nokia's approach to menus with bland colours and icons although they are changing now....(nokia makes phones as phones......not eye candy interms of os)

The phone is fast and there is hardly any lag even on things like theme changes....I love the way the camera works where you can just slide the shutter to activate even if the keypad is locked, a handy shutter button light illumintes to guide your finger which is quite cool. The photos is takes are really good quality for its size.....ofcource its still not on par with proper 2 mega pixel digital cameras (I have an old cyber shot P31) but its sure close.....Video capture and playback is good......although choppy at times.....putting videos onto the phone is easy (like music videos) and can be viewed in widescreen, the clarity is great and the speaker is loud.....

The phone is heavly customisable with many themes provided free from sony and it has great programs and 3D games........one of my favourites is being able to control you computer using the phones bluetooth. I becomes a wireless mouse with hotkey features for media playing etc etc...

The materials used are ok but not of the same quality as the T610's were....they had real aluminium and mirror finished black plastic, now the k750i is clad in powered grey/black and all the metal bits are fake, just sprayed plastic...The screen is high quality but looks abit fragile...I bought a screen protector to cover that huge expanse of plastic!

The keypad take abit of getting used to because there is no gap between the keys and they are low profile.....they do however look amazing like slanted tiles in a stepping motion and the blacklight complements its style well. I love the 2 stage keypad fadeout with the numbers fading before the other buttons fade!, nice touch. The joystick is really responsive but I dont know how long it will last as the T610 one tended to not fuction after about 2 years maybe because of dust ...but it seems alot more robust now...

The battery life is something like 900 hours standby which is insane...the battery is quite large but you will find that you play with all the features so much that is will run down quick.....Memory is good although I see the DUO slot breaking is you change cards often, the phone needs restarting sometimes to free up memory to get it to work fast and decode videos better.

Anyway......this kind of was a review (not a very good one as it was all over the place).....but I hope it gives you some info......I am a Sony fanatic and I would definately recommend this phone...it has proper 'grown up' features, not gimmics.....and a long list of fuctions that will keep to entertained..... Definately has a long shelf live and you probably wont need to get another phone for 2 to 3 years......all companies will to is raise the mega pixels......but 2 is good enough really.....

Robin :)

oh, p.s. the w800i is great too.....good thats sonys giving the phones walkman branding.....that one is basically the same as the k750 but I dont like the colour or the small style changes like the back camera assembly....doesnt look as 'black tie' !

A way better review..... http://www.mobile-review.com/review/sonyericsson-k750-en.shtml
