uve cocked the list up a bit. the 2jzgte is a 3 litre engine. the 1jzgte is a 2.5 litre engine. there is no 2.5 litre 2jzgte or 3 litre 1jzgte.

haha ill go 2jzgte out of the selection, and if we're talking forcefully inducted nippon engines... but the BMW 3.3l VANOS inline 6 (M3) owns all.

yes the 3s-gte is a 2 litre 24 valve four. its found in the sw20 mr2 and celica gt4. very impressive, in japan, theres street tyred mr2's running low 10s. underated engine.

-edit-
the mkIII 3l six ur thinking of is the 7MGTE i believe.

Um I like the 2JZGTE. And I like the Supra. And drift_prophet is right. That 2.5 needs to be changed to the 1JZ, and the other to the 7MGTE. I like all the engines, as the RB26 comes in a CLOSE second. Like the 2JZ is a 10, and the RB26 is a 9.9. JMO

R34 Vspec II I think it was...the one that comes BLUE right when you pick it....whichever one that was....

I forgot if it's true in GT but the R33 is faster becasue it's lighter ;)

No oil change either? Fastest I saw with a EVO VII GSR was 13.300 even..... no oil change no trickery. Let me see what I can get the EVO VII RS to run..... I think it just might hit 13.1xx

r33? Lighter?:lol::lol::lol: I remember it being referenced at the whale in one of the articles I read when being compared to the other skylines

This poll is biased in the sense that most people automatically think the Skyline is the meanest car from Japan.

It's like asking Ferrari V12 or Lamborghini V12. Which have which have you driven?

I'm willing to bet %70 of the people on here have never seen, let alone driven an MK4 Supra or Skyline. The poll should be: What do you think is the best Japanese IL6. Emphasis on think.

Monster, don't be a sore loser(so to speak), I read the other forum and from the looks of it you were just completly hung up on the 2jz gte. Remember, this is The ENGINE, not the car, so weather or not the skyline is the meanest car from japan isn't the issue. Because the Engine isn't the transmission. The engine isn't the atessa system. The engine isn't the GTR emblem. The engine is the Rb26DETT and people voted on that.

Alright drifster....... fastest I pull in my EVO VII RS is a 13.114 thats what like 8 hundreths of a second slower? Fastest I pulled with the GTR34 was a 13.191. Happen to have a replay?

I have driven both a supra and a skyline here in the states and I prefer the skyline ;) However I do want to own BOTH.

You DO have a point tho ;)

nope. Whoever wrote that article is an idiot  go to www.GTR.co.uk

R33 standard 1,530 kg R34 standard 1,540...10 more on the R34
R33 vspec 1,540 kg R34 vspec 1,560kg 20 Kg more on the GTR
Nismo 400R 1,550 kg
FROM GTR.co.uk
What a shame, the R34 GT-R V.spec (at 1,560kg) is 20kg heavier than the R33 V.spec. Probably made up from the extra stiffening active LSD and the underbody ground effect stuff. We were hoping for weight to be below the 1,500kg of the R32... still there is always the after market!
Engineers tried to reduce weight through using light materials and forged metal. The bonnet and front side panels are made of aluminium. On the V.spec, the front flat bottom tray is made of fiberglass and the rear one, which has to withstand the high temperature from the exhaust pipes, is made of carbon fiber.
Forged metal parts include suspension arms (each piece is 2.5kg lighter) and the 18in wheels (each 4kg lighter than the old 17in).

I guess you missed alot of the sarcasm then.

And there is a difference between being "hung up" and knowing which engine is better.

It has to be a tossup between the 2jz-gte and the rb26dett. Two awesome engines. SR20DET and 4g63 are I4s (sorry, didn't read most of the thread seeing as though it went of content).

The RB will kill the 4G. The RB is much more capable of more power. The 4G is good for about 900bhp without nitrous, as extrapolated from the UK, whereas the RB has a much higher ceiling. Likewise with the 2JZ.

I know it has a higher capability... in stock form though? I dont feel it to be a superior in any way.

RB26 Vs 4G63 ....Rb26 is better.....because, it's an inline six twin turbo engine....the 4G63 is coo and all...but....it's not a RB26dett....

It's all opinionated, they're both great engines as is the 3sgte and all that good stuff.....I just think more people would take a Rb26DETT over a 4g63T
