Who here has seen the advertisements for The Mask 2: "Son of the Mask"? They look like they've really ruined The Mask. The first movie was fun, entertaining, and a bit of good ol' Jim Carrey humour. This sequel looks like a cross between Look Who's Talking Now and Cats and Dogs. No surprise, seeing that this is made by some of the people from Cats and Dogs.

I'm very disappointed by the looks of this. No wonder Jim Carrey didn't sign up for it.
 
When I first heard about this movie, I had a feeling this was going to be another "Dumb and Dumberer"(I didn't have to see this movie to tell it sucked really bad.)
 
Carrey is a MUCH more successful actor now than when he did The Mask. There's no way he would have ever signed on to do a sequel.

I believe this movie is just a money making scheme, and it will probably attract young kids and their unwitting parents.

That said, who here is waiting with fingers crossed to see if Carrey will ever do another Ace Ventura movie?

You're probably right on those points, and yes, I think he should do another Ace Ventura too.

This new Mask sequel looks like it could be the worst movie ever made. And all I know about it is that Jim Carrey is not signed on for it, and that I saw a 30 second teaser for it in a theater a while ago. I have a sixth sense when it comes to picking out crappy movies, and this one is setting off my alarm bells all over.

It CAN'T be any worse than Dumb & Dumberer. That was crap from concentrate.
 
The ONLY thing worse than Jim Carrey prancing about on screen pulling stupid faces is someone pretending to be Jim Carrey prancing about on screen pulling stupid faces.

Fact.
 
Jim Carrey was pretty funny when he first started making Ace Ventura and The Mask and Dumb & Dumber, but his routine is getting old. I watched Lemony Snickett and was annoyed and bored, as though I'd seen him do all this before. Same goes for The Grinch. But at least Carrey has grown as an actor and is more than capable of carrying movies such as The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.
 
Yah, I think Jim Carey really needs to work on his act. Even now when I look back and watch In Living Colour, seeing him act like a retard just makes me mad now. I thought the mask and dumb and dumber were ok, because thats what the roles called for, and whenever he took the mask off, he actually had to try and act. His standup is no hell either.
 
If they make another Ace Ventura, they'll probably make it extremely stupid just like they've done with these 2 previous movies of Jim Carrey.

What's with the string of craptacular pre/sequels of Jim Carrey movies. When I heard about Dumb and Dumberer, I thought cool, there doing a sequel, its gonna be awesome. Then I find out that Carrey and Daniels aren't in it. I then refused to watch it. The fact that Bob Saget was in the movie just aided the fact of me not wanting to watch it. Eventually, I put my pride aside and watched it, to give it a fair chance. Wow, was I not surprised to find the movie was utter garbage. All they did was copy the original mannerisms of Carrey and Daniels, and didn't introduce any new humor. There were no good lines. Where was the "Hey guys, big gulps eh, well, cya later" or "Excuse me Flo?". I mean those lines were comic genius.

All the Mask 2 will be is another shameless half-ass reproduction by some guy trying to be like Jim Carrey. I won't watch it, I won't recommend anyone else to watch it, and I won't be surprised when it is an utter flop.

Whats next, Truman Show (The Early Years)? :crazy:

I hate Jim Carrey but he was "decent" in the mask because of the special effects.

This one I though since being a sequel would be a bomb but the previews look pretty good.

I hate Jamie Kennedy too.
 
But is it the same dog??? That's what I want to know.
