This car should come with a Health warning.
Just used it there for the Seasonal Event, and my ear drums are not far short of bursting.
The thing sounds like an old kettle boiling up, constantly with a higher pitch to it.
Is it supposed to sound like that?
The race was only 5 Laps, had to turn the volume off after 2..

How do you fit a racing gearbox to an electric car with single speed reduction gearbox?

I knew, from the moment the race started that i would see this post this morning when i checked in to GTP.
I wanted to turn to the sound off entirely, but needed the volume on 1 just so i could hear when the understeer began. i think i won the race on the pure adrenaline of trying to make the sound STOP!

Understeer on an i MiEV

the Mazda AZ-1 is off the same tree...

No way man, that's different. The AZ-1 makes that noise due to it's turbo, and what you're hearing most of the time is the thrumming of it's engine.

At least it HAS an engine so you don't hear just that whirring. Without it the car would feel like...I dunno, a Mazda dentist's drill.

I thought this event was great - otherthan the noise. Worst sounding car ever, if thats the future you can keep it.

Despite the tinnitus sound of this car, it has a very good modeled back seat, maybe the best I've seen from all premium cars I played.

I read somewhere that the Nissan Leaf has some sort of pedestrian warning whistle that to give people notice of that otherwise near-silent car's approach. I wonder if the Mitsu's whine is the same sort of thing, because it sure ain't the sound of an electric motor.

There is a solution; if you get annoyed by the sound, use bumper cam and get really close to the AI cars then the sound of your own car will be hidden. Listening to a 3-cylinder Turbo is better than listening to a jet taking off.

Now what the hell was that? PD is what, laughing at us, or does it REALLY sound like that in real life?

^These^ PD did this just to get back at all the people out there whining about everything with the game.

..

I wear hearing aids and when I started this seasonal race I cringed in agony...I could not take them out fast enuff. Needless to say I went "deaf" for a few minutes to finish that event...
