With unlimited sustain - controllable from neck to bridge pickups, also on only played strings, this thing opens up guitar playing into a whole new world. Oh wait, you can also have the opposite with muting instead. Wow. The video and Lou Reid speak for the itself.

 
Moog has been making synthesizers for decades.
Glad the technology has made it to the guitar.
 
I can do the same thing with a sustainer or E-Bow. I can even get this same result with tons of reverb, but then I'd have a tone drowned in reverb.

Interesting, but I'm not impressed, really. My college had a Mini Moog which had a instrument input. It did the same thing as this new guitar when I plugged my guitar into it.
 
Lovely sound, but it's a shame they're expensive as sin ($6k+) and just as ugly if the press photos on the moog site are to be believed.
 
I don't think it will get too far; today's guitarists seem to prefer, 'traditional' instruments, having already devised a way of working with the guitar's apparent limitations. More conservative designs were shot down for that.
