That b-spec Bob gets twice as many laps per race as I do. Why PD? My races aren't long enough; a few laps around a tracks and then done.

His races are FAR too long for me to stomach. I was just about to put him through the Muscle Car Championship (In professional Series), then suddenly realised I'd have to endure nine laps of Laguna Seca.

Nine!!? I don't even wanna let him do ONE. :grumpy:

I would happily have all my races from Beginner right up to extreme tripled in length. I just don't understand PD's decision. Perhaps Kaz knows that his b-spec creations are absolutely bloody useless and so have to have longer races to give them a chance to win.

Am I the only one bothered by this?

I agree. I wish you could make the A Spec events longer. 1 lap around the Ring isnt enough for me, but Bob gets 2.

There should be a length adjuster for A Spec. Short, Medium, Long. With the prize money adjusting accordingly. Would make repeating races more fun as you can do them at the length you want.

I'd rather have it the other way around too. Letting him drive is really too boring, I want more of the fun!.

b-spec is the most pointless time suck grind for no reason I have ever encountered. It takes no skill whatsoever to do. It must be a Japanese thing that I just don't get.

I would happily trade a-spec races that were 4 times as long in order to get rid of b-spec altogether.

This is one of the most annoying parts. "German Touring Car Championship!" - 1 Lap of Nurburgring.

ONE LAP!!?

Could you imagine for a second a genuine Touring car race consisting of one lap, even if it is on a course almost 13 miles long? I want at least 10 for that particular event. The races are almost comically short for us in A-spec, but Bob gets to faff around like a right dimwit while I sit there clawing my own eyeballs out in frustration.

I agree, completely.
What in earth has lead them to double the amount of laps in B-Spec?

Lvl 3 b-spec here... Won't try that again unless PD will add a fast forward option (at least 2x, but better if 4x). And even then, it will be the one of the most stupid things that games ever had. Because it's hardly a game, if i'll want to watch how someone are racing, i'd rather check my own replay or watch some video on youtube, insead of watching how AI is racing.
And 2x laps for it... i guess just to cover the fact, that GT mode (a-spec, special events) is too short this time. 45 events in a-spec if not count endurance one.

The only A-spec race that truly feels like a championship is the Formula GT Cup. Everything else is too short.

Excellent idea. And a difficulty setting for the AI would also be nice, that also adjusts the prize money. Grid had a perfect system that rewarded different play styles.

I would totally love to agree with you, but I haven't made the FGT Cup yet.
But yes, every race so far has been way to short for my liking. :(

They can't really shorten B-Spec race, since some races, it really takes Bob until last last couple corners to take first. For A-spec, the length would be ok if they can make races more competitive. I feel like every A-spec race I do, I'm bringing a gun to a knife fight overpowering everyone, I could bring a knife to take on the big boys by detuning my car and race as an underdog, but that's what seasonal challenges are for. :) Now only if they introduce a car rating system so I don't bring a car that's TOOOOO powerful but still competitive.

I wish b spec was never invented.

Seconded, i find myself driving less and less. I think Bob has got 100h and i've done maybe barely 25h of driving.
This is definately what bothers me most about this game:tdown:

He has longer races, with crappier rewards, has to use crappier tires and is still (at level38) a total idiot who i wish i could virtually run over.

I am good with the way the laps are for A-Spec is not like I got time to race 5 times around the ring, thats 35 minutes there....

That's another good point. It's as if PD wants a-spec to be really easy (save for a very select few races), whereas b-spec is long-drawn-out and much more restrictive.

I'd even be happier if b-spec events (length) and restrictions (tyres) were swapped for a-spec events. Give me Bob's races; I know how to race...

I found it odd that after doing a buncha short races, out of nowhere they expect me to do a 6-race series of all 20 laps.

....then it's back to short races for the dream car championship :scared:

Then you'll absolutely HATE the 24 and 4 hours of Nurburgring.

This is totally true. 👍

To be honest, i think some of the A-Spec races are too long, i consider 10 laps of anything and endurance, when you overtake all the cars in the first lap the rest of the race is just boring, and i don't even have the X1 or FGT yet, i'm still using 'normal' cars

Yeah pretty much... I can appreciate what the developers were trying to create, but generally I like to do the racing myself!

Although it IS useful when I want to get cash and cars - I can set Bob up and wander off and do something productive. I just can't stand spending all that time idle doing nothing - it would be one thing if it were properly regulated and I had to do something, but I don't most of the time... all my races are either AFK romps or are impossible no matter what car I give him and what commands I issue. Oh well.... it HAS grown on my somewhat since I got the game when it came out...

Why didn't they just make it a seperate game. I would like longer races but only if they had the save during championship feature back.

The only thing B-Spec is good for is for taking over endurance races for you so you can get some shut eye. In real life, you drive four hours, and then get 4-8 hours to rest before you take the wheel again. That was actually realistic, driving 24 hours by yourself isn't. I wish it was like GT4, where you had a choice. But no, instead 108 races for me, I only get 54 and have to watch the other 54.

perfect setup for me, it's not unfair, just right.

You are the team manager for b-spec, if you don't like then don't play it.

I like the concept, it's just poorly implemented. If we had the same length of races as Bob does with the same restrictions, it wouldn't be so bad. But it seems Bob get's the opportunity to have more fun than us but he simply doesn't take that opportunity. Instead he struggles and faffs about, refusing to overtake, braking too late, too early, unnecessarily, sometimes not at all, loses a massive lead for no reason whatsoever. I mean, you actually have to tell a so-called racing driver to speed up and overtake for Christ's sake! You think this is just right? Do you watch much motor sports?
