The Nürburgring 4Hr Race Lexus IS 200 GT-1 Race Car Challenge

Introduction: I wanted to stay in the top 3 with this low power race car.

Driver:

Iam T-A-R-K-A-T-A, a 18 year old driver, iam not, by far, one of the best drivers of this community, I use my old DS3 controller but I share with you the love for cars and racing. I only use one driving assist (ABS set to 1), but I like challenges fit to my racing skills. Iam currently level 37.

Car:

The car is the IS 200 GT-1 Race Car '04. Its completely stock with 0km no oil change. It has about 220HP and 1100KG. Top speed its 250Km/h. I wanted to take this car so I could test its limits.

The Race:

For This Race I will be using RH tires.

Events:

L1 – 9:15.516
Drop down on the start really fast. Worked my way until 5th.

L2 – 9:03.978
Battle for the 4th place. The skyline is way faster in straights. I win on the corners but he is so wide I don’t have space to pass.
L3 - 9:03.870
Got 3rd place but the nismo fairlady is mutch faster a good battle went on.
L4 - 9:04.489
L5 - 9:07.364

In these to laps i tried to keep the 4th place but i was having a bad time :/ Anyways the cars started to pit and i got 1º place. I was saving the tires for more laps to come.

L6 - 9:06.003
L7 - 9:09.573
L8 - 9:10.934
L9 - 9:20.334

At lap 9 i lost the first place they were just so damn fast in straights. I could only go 250km/h tops and to get there it was a pain in the a**. At the end of this lap i pitted for the first time having a full service.

L10 - 10:08.581

I left the pit in 8º. My moral went down... 1:35.000 gap.

L11 - 9:02.945

Some A.I. pitted. got up to 4th

L12 - 9:02.180
L13 - 9:06.564

Took 3rd place if my memory is ok :dopey:

L14 - 9:03.731
L15 - 9:09.449
L16 - 9:13.254

Lost 1º place ( the A.I. pitted previously)

L17 - 9:15.134

I was in 3rd by this lap.

L18 - 9:17.659
L19 - 9:17-605

Pit Stop (FS)~

L20 - 10:21.074
L21 - 9:07.707
L22 - 9:02.621
L23 - 9:05.032
L24 - 9:03.816
L25 - 9:05.330
L26 - 9:17.644

I didnt make any more notes here was really tired. But i was fighting hard to make it to 3rd place but i ended the race safely with the car behind far away. Top 3 goal achieved!!

Now for some reason i got 1º place but iam sure i crossed the line in 3rd. I was checking a foto of the final results and iam like :embarrassed:

Summary:
Wasn`t expecting to win but i LOVED this car...

That's an impressive race, Tarkata, with an interesting choice of car and very good lap times! 👍

You probably were credited with first because the time expired after the first two crossed the finish line but before you did. It's an issue with GT5's scoring which stems from the finish of the race being based upon when you cross the line, not when the leader crosses it. You might also see it drop your position during the last lap if cars behind you on the same lap finish which then is corrected when you get to the line. I've never seen that but I'm sure I've read accounts of it happening.

This also surfaces if you are running a very long but distance-scored race like the Indy 500 against the AI and are multiple laps down, as they will stop when they finish but of course never pit... and all the cars that are laps down will continue racing until they finish the scheduled laps, or until the standard but oddly random 10-90ish seconds after you finish. That problem also occurred in Race Driver 3, for those keeping score.

It should update once they cross the line again, but at very long tracks they usually won't because PD didn't think of letting the race results board wait long enough before it disappears in the enduros.

I'm still not sure how I won my 4-hour the first time though, because I unlapped myself right at the end but the still-leader went into the pits right behind me, so should have made it to the line. It might be that the order is frozen when you cross the line, but I have seen AIs swap positions after I've finished before - and even while mid-lap. I suppose only the leader might be frozen, but that would be weird. It actually showed him a lap down in the results somehow.
