Just found this out but it’s Absolutely disgusting. “2 million credit” for 19.99 now they wanna release the 5 million credit for 30$. What a way to scam the folks that have been playing for a while. I personally bought the 2 million once a long time ago but like cmon. It’s easy to make money in the game by simply doing races all the time but for the folks that just want cool things and don’t wanna put in the time to get it due to work or whatever the case may be. I feel so bad for them.

Absolutely disgusting. The 2 million dollar one is only 10 dollars cheaper… literally had me waste 2x the cash for the basic 2 million credit.. and now they’re wanna release the 5 million credit for 30$. I literally got ripped off.
All Microtransactions are a rip-off, especially now in GT7 where you can earn 2m without really thinking about it. For two weeks before the update and the 5m option appearing, you could have earned 2m (once) for a 19.1-second lap of a half-mile oval.

However it's also standard for Microtransactions to cost proportionally less the higher the value you buy. The cost of the 5m is 25% less (or a 33% reduction) than the expected scaled value ($39.99), but still.

I literally got ripped off.
This is true regardless of which one you bought.

Two days ago, I bought two of 5 million pack and one 2 million pack for what is 80 USD. I buy some microtransactions once every year around holidays time.

It's not a rip-off when you think about it that a percentage of microtransaction money goes into future content for GT7 and development of GT8. For me it is not about wanting cool things with no effort but is rather me wanting to support Polyphony.

Do the weekly online time trials (PS+ not required) and I think you get 500,000 for bronze every time. That adds up straight away.

Do all the circuit experiences. Even if you just get a bronze in all of them that's got to be a few million.

Do the weekly challenges. That's normally 700k a week or a decent ticket that may well be worth more than that.

That isn't too much per week and you'll be getting that 12 million of equivalent in no time.

If you can afford it, great

If you don't want to buy and and find it expensive, great...

No one is forcing anyone on doing anything....

We all have options.

I am not sure what's the big deal about it.

If you get a game, but don't want to play it, and then complain that MTX are too expensive...then I think it's a you problem.

Yes I know there are better free ways to get 12m Cr. but I do not think you read my post very well. :(

The financial arrangements between SIE (the publisher) and PD (the developer) are far from straightforward - PD is both a direct department of SIE, which SIE pays to make GT, but also a company with its own financial results and makes money off partnerships. But in essence there is no direct link between the money you spend and PD.

When you buy the game or DLC or MTX, your money goes to SIE. Of course, the more money SIE makes off GT, the more it may be willing to stick into the budget for the next one, but it's not as direct as x% of any given purchase goes to PD.

We don't really know how much GT costs to make, but the last figures I saw more concretely bandied about were $60m for GT5 (stated by Yamauchi in 2009), and subsequently $50-$60m for GT6; Sport and 7 allegedly cost $80-$100m apiece - although since the Gran Turismo movie also cost $100m to make I'm not sure how accurate those figures may be.

I would rather die on a hill of ignorance saying I supported PD than play guessing games. But that's just me. ;)

I think it's a good idea. They cut the cost of buying credits almost in half.
Yes I've used the MTX's. I have the money for it but I don't always have the time to attempt the impossible with weekly time trials, grinding, or golding CE's. So until I got all but the $18 million plus cars, I bought a few MTX's. I bought another one last week that was bundled with the Power Pack. I saved tons of credits and bought the cars that were then $18 million and up that I didn't already have.

I can appreciate the ability to be able to try out certain cars that evening with an MTX purchase instead of grinding three days and waiting for a TT payout to roll in.
