It has an awsome Infinity stereo, leather and of course having A/C and a heater is a huge plus. Yes I'm a hypocrite by buying a Chrysler product...but since its only costing me $130 per month including insurance I'd say its a good deal.

Man, we can't hit up the bars in Dallas rolling in that...unless we got some girls. :p

Seriously, congrats. 👍

I can't hit up a bar anyway. I'm in a serious relationship right now, and she wouldn't appreciate me going to bars anyway. lol

What was the previous daily driver? It wasnt the camaro, was it?

Yes it was. The engine finally croaked after 251,8xx miles. I had an unexpected oil leak and it ran without oil too long and spun a piston rod berring.

Ah, that's right. I guess that explains your absence here as well. ;)

Well that doesnt sound fun. You're gonna rebuild, or get another engine I take it?

Why, may I ask, did we choose a van?

Nevertheless, they are comfortable. Enough to put me asleep even when behind the wheel!

Rebuild if the engine block can be saved, if not count on there being one very loud very large monster under my hood. And by very large I mean my displacement will be larger than 5.7L (347/350ci). ;)

I choose the van for three very important reasons. I knew the vehicle's history since new, its only costing me $2,000 total when all is said and done and I had to get financial help which means I had no choice of the vehicle.

454 ftw!

Yup. I'm going to do my 75k mile serivce next week--that'll at least tell me what I need to know about the transmission fluid. It has about 73,500 miles on it right now. So far it seems to be behaving itself. After all an old man in his 70's owned it before me.

 I don't want the front of my car touching the pavement. I'm not making a drag car. I'll probably go with either a bore'd/stroke'd 427 or 454. Or if I can find a way a Ford 302 just to piss everyone off. :D

Uh...426/572 Crate Hemi, anyone? It's a CHRYSLER, after all...I get tired of SBC/BBC engines being put into cars not made by GM.

Pics of my new ride.

He means the Camaro Jim.

Edit: Go Ford 302 Camaro! There's enough 350 Mustangs...

I'd love to. I've made it known that I'd prefer to do that...find me a guide and I'll do it. :D

It'll take a good bit of fab work and a different bellhousing for the T5, as well as adapting the Chev TBI or going to a carb...

The T5 was available for both the Mustang and Fbody so no fab needed. The motor mounts are all that need to be fabbed up for the drivetrain. The 302 is skinnier than the 305/350 I think so there would be more room in the engine bay. I can probably do the swap for less money than what a 427/454 swap will cost. But who knows...

Oh, Camaro. I thought the Van.

The van will be unmolested. No point...

That would be a fun one with a HEMI. Mid-engined minivan with a big V8, anyone?

Maybe, but why waste precious money on a minivan when that could go towards the Camaro. :D

The mounts were what I meant...

It's enough custom work to scare most off even though it's theoretically not THAT bad.

With that motor you'll just need some slicks to fix that issue. Drive on the rears all day long. :D

oh, you big sissy. You dont need to make it a drag car, just put in the biggest most stupidest baddest engine you can find.

Or if you dont find, I will. As you might know by now, I'll never suggest anything really "real", so bear with me.

lol I don't want to cut any metalwork on the car. I'm looking forward to the 427/454 swap. Should be interesting... If I can find an LS2 (6.0L) reletively inexpensive I'd probably consider that.

I would think a 427/454 would probably really make that Camaro quite nose-heavy, particularly a cast-iron block version. Think of what Ford did to the GT500, and you get the idea.

I might see a later-gen LS-series smallblock as a better choice.

A Chevy 302 might be cool, though...think '69 Z/28...

No, think Ford 302. E7 heads and a carby intake.

:p

And yes, I wish to anger Chevrolet boys as much as possible. As I said they've bastardized enough Mustangs... And a Ford 302 is a definite improvement over the 305 sooo...

Find me a guide for a 302 swap and I'll do it. I have no issues dropping a Ford V8 into my Camaro. Is there an aluminum 427/454? If not perhaps I'd have to go with an LS2.
