Im sure, that some of you maybe aware of the re-invented series of Doctor Who, i am not aware if a certain number of you have seen the new show with the Nineth Doctor (Chirstopher Ecclestone), and companion (Billie Piper). The Show debuted on March 26th, and this saturday coming up will be its 6th Episode. And after 17 years, the Daleks, will be making a comeback onto Television screens, No longer hampered by stairs (They have Jet boosters apparently) with more deadly weaponry, etc etc.
How have you found the series so far? (Providing you have seen the series)
Im sure for many of you, Doctor who is, a love thing,a hate thing, or...who the hell is Doctor Who!!?. lol
With 700 episodes in total,( 701 this Monday), and 26 years in Running, the longest running sci-fi in history, beginning in 1963, with the First Doctor, (William Hartnell), and running through 7 official doctors through to the end of 1989, when the show was cancelled. And world reached a Dark phase in its existance... We then had a, what i consider, a Disastrously Boring 8th Doctor Movie in 1996.
Now in 2005, a man who has saved the show from certain Erasion from Time and Space completely,a talented Tv Writer for the British Series ''Queer as Folk'' and ''Mine all Mine'' Mark Davies, from my Welsh City of Swansea!! Has written this new series, and so far, i consider the new Doctor Who, a Big Success.
As i say earlier Christopher Ecclestone, plays the nineth Doctor, to me, he plays an amazing character in the show. Yet unfortunatly, for him to avoid a ''Type Cast'', he has decided to quit just after this first series. And we shall soon be seeing a 10th Doctor.
Each episode now lasts a fixed 45 minutes, and fills in a time slot on BBC1, at 7pm on a Saturday Evening.
Its alright for the Brits, we get to view it already haha, nah, i kno Australia will start airing the series on the First of may (nice one) and Canada, not so sure about the USA. Trust me, even if you hated the old Doctor who, you have atleast got to watch one episode of this new series, who knows, there may be a hidden Dr who fan inside us all.....well maybe not.
Anyone else been watching?
