What a sweet weekend of results.

SA 31 Ire 17. Yay. I didnt think we would beat the "Triple Crown Champions", but we did, and in the process outscored them 4 tries to 1. They do get a bit dirty when the chips arent falling for them (Ire), but still, there is another game this weekend, and I still think the teams are evenly matched.

NZ 36 - Eng 3. Hahahahahahahahha. The "World Champs" get a 'snotklap' from the All Blacks and in doing so lost their official number one world ranking. After they got walloped in the 6 Nations, their star is definitely waning. Pity they peaked at the RWC last year :D

Aus 34 Sco 15 Closer then the game should have been. Didnt watch though, but it looked on the news as if Aussies wingers had a field day.

Argentina beat Wales but I dont know the score. Well dont to them 👍

Feel free to add your own comments..

Good to see 2/3 of my teams winning.
SA (Used to live there)
NZ (Live here now)

Losers
ENG (had to. They were up against NZ)

i wish international rugby league was a storng as international rugby union.......thats what happens when the kangaroos kicks everyones arsse

The only arses going to get a kicking this weekend are the Aussies. By the South Africans :D

pfft

if your talking about the union, i dont care for it. im a league man through and through

if you talking about the swimming, u guys got lucky

The only reason I dislike league is that when you get tackled theres no ruck, you just wriggle on the floor till the guys get off you. I don't mind the phase limit, it stops a game getting too one sided.

League absolutely rules - I saw the dude in your avatar playing a match the other day and it went to extra time and he got soo confused about having the choice to kick AND the side of the field the broncos would play from.

BTW Its the Bulls all the way - champions of the world strong, determined, powerful and skilfull. They are under the kosh a bit this year so far but Im sure they'll come good in the play-offs (if they aviod Leeds Rhinos that is!)

Gordan Tallis, yeah the rules for extra time are a bit whacked. i loved that game though, broncos vs cronulla. it was good because broncs won and my friend goes for the sharks.

oh and the brisbane broncos are better than the Bulls. Broncs are goin well so far, third on the table, fighting for a home final and the minor premiership, but the roosters and the bulldogs are just awesome whih sucks because i dont like the bulldogs and i HATE the roosters.

oh and mike, what other swimming gold medals has south africa won?

Funny you mention that. Schoeman beat Thorpe last night. And considering you sent 4 - 5 times as many swimmers as SA, I would expect more medals from Aus.

And, a reminder that this is a Union thread, not a discussion for League.

Yeah I saw that Aus has a traitor in their team. A South African player. What's worse is that he scored the winning Try against SA, on the weekend.

Rathbone is a punk. And a phoney. Tuqiri owns him. Rathbone is useless at breaking tackles and making runs. All he ever does is get the final pass in an overlap and dot down.

Easy Mike !! The thread title is a bit vague. You cant expect the title of "Official Rugby thread" not to get us League boys posting !!

So I suppose that everyone over there hates Irene Van Dyke too? **** she's a MILF I think she's a mother.

Confusion ended ;)

Strangely, nobody really cares about her. Probably cos netball is less popular then rugby here.

i do agree about tiquri, he is awesome. from what ive seen in union game he is usually running the show. breaking the line and tackling good. i havent seen tuqiri play much since he left the brisbane broncos (along with sailor) but back then i remember he was a VITAL part of our sucess. Sailor i thought was always overrated. he is EREALLY good but always overrated, he had his good games and his shocking games, and i think he has carried that trend over with him to union.

Sadly it's Soccer that's not popular here. Atleast that gives me a better chance at getting onto the International team. Nah I doubt it.

I'm curious to know what's happened to the AB's lately.

Tuqiri is probably one of the top two wingers in the world. He is fast, it always takes 2 o 3 guys to bring him down and he is a sly runner with ball in hand. Sailor is more direct, he doesnt have much of a sidestep 👍

So basically

South Africa beat Australia 23 -19 to win the Tri-Nations!!1
and deny the Aussies the title :D

Didn't really follow the Six Nations this year, but Congratulations Wales for the well deserved win and for getting the Grand Slam!👍

Here he goes again...
Wilkinson out of New Zealand tour
Newcastle fly-half Jonny Wilkinson is to undergo shoulder surgery at the end of the season, ruling him out of England's tour of New Zealand in June.

The 28-year-old will have an operation to repair a cartilage tear.

"We would have liked him to tour and we intend to take our strongest available squad," said Rugby Football Union elite rugby director Rob Andrew.

"But player welfare is important and in this case it's the right call for Jonny not to go to New Zealand."

England face the Barbarians at Twickenham on 1 June ahead of two Tests against New Zealand later that month.

606: DEBATE
Who should replace Wilkinson in the squad?

The tour will be overseen by Andrew, as newly appointed team manager Martin Johnson will stay at home to be with his pregnant wife Kay.

Wilkinson became the highest points scorer in Test history during this year's Six Nations, but he also lost his starting place at fly-half to Danny Cipriani in the final match against Ireland.

However, having signed a new two-year contract with Newcastle, Wilkinson had set his sights on forcing his way back into the team.

He had also been enjoying a relatively injury-free spell, having missed much of 2004 and 2005 with shoulder and knee problems.

He missed the Falcons' last game against Sale recovering from concussion, but is expected to return for the visit of Worcester Warriors in the European Challenge Cup semi-final.

However, once Newcastle's season is over, Wilkinson will undergo surgery on what is described as a "long-standing cartilage tear".
