The Pros and Cons after the october update

Please tell us what you like / dislike after the new update (3 october 2008)

I start with the CONS:

- The RUBBERBAND effect is still active
- NO private rooms
- Never ever 16 Players online races
- Environment (Spectators on the tribunes i.e.) lifeless

The PROS:

- Much better car-handling (physics) at least by using the sixasis pad
- Better Sound (Volume) coordination
- 3 more cars
 
I like the fact there is always new thread like this created after every update, despite the fact of already existing offical pre-update thread, post-update thread, as well as other specific threads discussing some specific issues - and I like the most that it always turns to become whishlist thread or flooding-vulgaris-thread.

Will subscribe to this one, intrested to see will it follow the pattern described above :D
 
Pros

-Car doesn't slip at all when stopped anymore
-Wheel doesn't go spastic when stopped anymore
-When doing slow moving burnouts car doesn't turn the opposite direction to what you are steering anymore. (wonder how many people will notice that, only aussies (damn hoons :p)
-Top down racing (California)
-New intro is fantastic


Cons

-California's rear view (while in cockpit) is nice looking but awfully useless, and the mirror is almost useless too
-When using the GT by Citroen then jump into another car, the transimission setting is reverted to automatic, which I always forget to set back to manual before the race.

What cars do you get with the update?
 
PRO: the european intro movie doesn't stutter its music any more, all good again
PRO: new content update includes a nice new intro / scenery with the 3 new cars

As mentioned earlier, the topdown version of the california is very nice. I hope to see an option soon to choose between on/off for every other convertible too.

CON: i can readjust my controller settings once more. I dont know why they keep on resetting those values too on every update.

CON: i dont have 1 million credits for the new citroen yet.
PRO: new credit reward system should make this less of a burden :)
 
Just noticed, not sure if this is changed because of the recent update:

On event select, it gives an option to adjust car properties, including traction control (because of the update it is set to default setting of 5). In the pre-race menu under car properties, you cant change it there. I have the S-class unlocked, so i can adjust traction control within the tune menu. But then it is on the base of A,B,C configuration (where i have it set to 0); so im not sure why the initial race dialog had it still set to 5.

Bit confusing.
 
Pro
-Lotus Evora
-I can now beat 800PP races with GT-R :D

Con
-Lotus Evora has an American gearbox (AKA ridiculous gear ratios.. barely needed firth on Fuji straight). :ouch:
-Arcade mode graphics stutter so badly that it makes me sick on any track or any car.
 
Good:
Downloaded with no problem in about 15-20 minutes
Nice eye candy with the new intro
Ferrari California is a fun ride

Bad:
Hmmmm......
Only raced once at the Daytona Oval with the new Ferrari and noticed that the rear view gives a very nice look at the prancing pony etched into the middle of the rear seat. Otherwise, I was hardly aware of the two AI cars on my bumper. But, who cares, I was leaving them anyway.

I've been watching you try your hardest in the threads over these few months, but the force is too great with these noobs. It is entertaining and I applaud your effort. 👍

Well, English isn't my first language so could someone explain with different words what "Rubberband effect" is?

I agree with the pros, better sound and 3 new cars!
 
Pros:
-Ferrari California, great fun to drive and convertible ride (mentioned above:tup:)
-Offline events that were very difficult to get gold with professional physics are now more manageable for us players with wireless controllers:sly:
-Swift downloads/no problems
-Ferrari online event is great fun, challenging and very open:tup:

Cons:
-One or two framerate issues on arcade mode

Rubberband effect is a handicap which occurs in online mode. Basically it slows down the leaders and speeds up the losers. The idea is to keep the racers close.

It's like robbing from the wealthy to give to the poor. It's unfair.
