A thread concerning bikes in GT ending with the idea that you kind of can't have bikes in Gran Turismo since we already have great bike sims like Tourist Trophy (a PD creation, no less) and the immortal MotoGP game got me thinking.

Where would that leave an F1 sidecar/superside?

What I'm talking about is one of these:

As you can see, an F1 sidecar is a sort of combination of an open-wheel race car, a bit of bobsled and a...bike, really. And someone refresh my memory on if sidecars have ever been represented before in any form of racing game, bike or otherwise.

These things can go at up to 180 MPH and post 0-60 times of around 2.5 seconds. If there's a performance machine that I think deserves its day in the sun in either GT or TT, it's this.


Now, the question for you guys. Do you have any pet favorite motorsport types that you'd like to see represented in Gran Turismo or just a sim in general?

From what I've seen of online, I think many should answer 'Demolition Derby'!:crazy:

Personally, I'd like to see mixed class racing a la ALMS racing. Prototypes and GT2 racing together, but with separate scoring. Loads of fun...
 
Ah, that's a good idea. It'd certainly be more realistic too.
 
i love that theyve incorporated nascar, and gocarts and some rally in a traditionally road course and formula/LM dominated game... i think now it would be sweet to combine all the styles with some dirt slingin sprint car races. 👍
 
You speak of sprint cars, but what of CORR, actually? Rally cars and the odd Dakar truck are fine but why don't we see how fast a pack of buggies can race around Eiger Nordwand's K trail or go flying around Chamonix?
 
Wow! Never seen that before. The only thing i can guarantee is this....that is by far the safest sport I've ever seen :-) lolol
 
They should have included footracing then. The events would be:

Shoe-barus vs Lambor-feeties
Chevro-legs vs Five-Point-Toes
Toe-yotas vs Knee-sans

Looking for motorsport types, here...although that does bring up the fact that the question becomes what motorsport types that aren't just outright silly.

I doubt anyone here wants to go Reliant Robin banger racing, although that's a pretty prevalent racing style online.

that too! would love to see some point to point enduros. now thaaaat would be fun! no repetition, not knowing what to expect for 9-24 hours. epic win.

Seeing as Codemasters still have the licenses for the BTCC ,DTM and V8 Supercars and are doing NOTHING with them(((grrrrr))), maybe PD could take them off their hands?
I think everyone who plays GT5 would enjoy all the tracks and cars from those 3 series
