GTR Series Coming to 360?

Certainly looks that way. Swedish developers SimBin - the team behind the super-hardcore, super-awesome GTR racing series for the PC - have announced via press release that they're working on an Xbox 360 game, the title of which will be revealed "soon". Now, while we could keep an open mind about this, and speculate on whether this means they'll be releasing a point-and-click adventure game based on the reign of the Holstein-Gottorp house, we won't. Because all SimBin have ever done is racing games. So we'll instead prepare for the inevitable announcement of a hardcore racing sim for the 360, whether GTR-branded or not.

We do have plans for an upcoming X360 game and an official announcement from Simbin will follow shortly with correct information on title and publisher. I've never played the GTR games myself, but I'm well-aware of the technical awesomeness that they bring to the PC in making some of the most-realistic driving sims to date. Problem is, I don't game on the PC much, and I prefer to just have it collect for the consoles on the big TV. But, that being said, this does make the purchase of a wheel for the 360 that much more appealing...
 
There was a video of GTR for the 360 out on the marketplace a looong time ago. I wouldn't hold my breath on the release.
 
It's a fantastic game, cant wait for a 360 version.
 
Hopefully 360's GTR will support 1080p resolution (highly likely if it's a port from PC game. It had texture resolution up to 2xxx X 1xxx res both SD and Widescreen) The GT Force feedback for PS2 worked like a champ on GTR for the PC (I personally have experience with the game) If Simbin pulls this off, watch out Polygam Digital

If there was a good wheel for the 360 GTR would definitely be good for it. They will have to really dumb down the controls for controllers though.
 
It stands no chance against the GT series. Maybe it would compete with Forza, but I'm not impressed with GTR.

Also, I like to play racing games with regular controllers. Does that make me dumb :(

Me too, I can't really see GTR working with a controller. But I really like the triggers on the 360 controller, so it might turn out okay.

Yea I had that vid.
I believe it was about a year and a half ago.
Im not sure but the PC version had been out for a while back then.
 
There are that many buttons required, I'd be surpirsed if it didnt come with a incar button panel or something for pit requests headlights race data acquisition etc.
