I dunno what u guys actually know about the real drifting world and all. But i was wondering if any of u guys actually copy off the real drifters, the pros that are everwhere. Seigou Yamamoto with that Chaser (JZX100 Chaser) and the other dude, Yoshinori Koguchi and his nissan 180SX. lol, i cant even pronounce their names half the times, but i keep updated on those 2, and that gold silva. I think its the 2 signal cars... Don't think they're owned by people, just the company, i dunno the drivers either, i swore i did before, but yeah, how much do u actually know about the drifting world?

dunno if there were other posts like this, so yeah

lol i actiouly was really involved with drifting before even thinking about applying it to GT3...

kinda makes you think how many people follow it IRL...

...also shows how mainstream it is getting, like just yesterday i saw a total of 5 magazines with the words "drifting" on the cover, and even one all about it!!:banghead:

 yikes!

Yeah, drifting is hella booming now, i'm startin to see like, the drift tire marks across the intersections. When they do it at night in public, its kinda scary at first, cuz u dont expect it in the dark and quiet night, then out of nowhere, loud tire screeching. But sometimes i just hear it, and just miss it:banghead: .... as i was saying, me and my friends (older people who have their cars and gear with it) want to try and adjust their cars like the pros and stuff. On gt3 and in real life, just don't know where we'll get the money. And the magazines, pick up that sports compact car one, the 2Fast 2Furious exclusive stuff on it. Has one of the newest drifting events in it

anybody else a real drifter???

haha, gettin my permit next thursday

Vinkento, does that remind you of anything?
And yes, i am a drifter in real life also, im still learing up in Eagle Rock (if you live in California, im sure you know where that is), and also, we have a family racing team, thanks to our uncle who now owns his own bodyshop :)

Yeah, my friends uncle owns a ground zero racing shop. They got a few cars just sttin around, i was thinking of giving them idea to start a drifting team, or a type of session. I mean, what else area u gonna do with like 6 cars sittin in the back of ur shop, some already equiped with performance parts. But i still got a learn though, but i know more than the average racer knows about actual drifting

anyone else notice that drifting in real life might become the new "RICE" like how the altezza lights are on those lame ricers. eww:irked:. and i hope that drifting wont be one of those:( cuz if it turns into rice then drifting will turn gay:banghead: IMHO

ethikz: you live up in eagle rock? haha my cuz lives there

Um, yeah, u wont see ricers. Their cars are FF cars, and as u should know u cant drift those. But i think the good drifters wont spend much on the lights and stuff on their car, mostly the suspension and tires, cause i know, racers are poor, but make it look like they got money. haha, but yeah, wont see ricers drifting anytime soon. Everybody is going for the 80's rear wheel drive cars, rx7's, AE86, 280SX, S13 and S15 and so on

if i were on topic, don't think i understood what u wre saying

yesterday i tried my first real drift its pretty hard but i got it a little
i went to an empty boeing parking lot that n one ever parks in!!!
pretty neat ****

so yeah, what do other people use. My friend was thinking about lettin me try out his car, but now he has second thoughts........

after i showed him drifting, he accidently saw what happens when u do it wrong

and plus, no permit yet

i tried to drift couple of times but still can't do it yet.
i will keep try to learn drift though although i will do it very slow coz i want to make sure it's safe and i know what i'm doing instead of just blindly force my car to go sideways.

haha, there was this video of these two guys. It was like a rainy day and i guess the guy was like, lets try and drift. I think he had a camry, so he goes down this street, and so he turns, starts sliding, and hits the curb and messes up his back axel i think, the whole rear tire was like, just sittin there, anybody seen that?

Yeah, and it's an old Taurus...I belong to the TCCA so that obviously caught the attention of a member or two and someone posted it. Makes you wnat to smack some people.

That reminds me of when my buddy told me about this guy in a satarn (they are all FF right?). He said he could drift his FF car, but when he did, his rpms droped and he shot into a mountan wall!

N00b question:

Can you drift a car with an automatic transmission? So far, the only real drifts I've seen are with manual transmissions.

well i never seen anyone did it with automatic though, my friend told me that his friend (which is my friend too, hopefully this not confusing :P) show a bit of drifting with his supra which has 400+ hp on wheel. well i haven't seen it myself so im not sure he really drift it or just keeping the tyre lose traction with that amount of hp.
well IMO ppl using manual coz u have more control over your car where in auto it will change gear by itself unless u change from D to lower gear.
