This is starting to become a rather large topic in the auto industry, so I thought a thread to see and discuss current sales and trends could be interesting. Shall we start with September 2008?

*Clicky the image for the Autoblog article and the MINI numbers, which somehow got messed up.*

Hopefully we'll see a turn around sometime soon. It is comforting to see that GM posted the smallest loss percentage-wise, although Ford is pretty far down the chart. And of course I'm happy to see that both VW companies and MINI were the only brands to post single digit loss percentages. It's also good to see that Saab is selling more cars than Porsche this time around, as that has got to be a figure that hurts pretty bad. I am a little surprised to see that Volvo and Toyota motors are posting such high losses.

I also had a look at the VWoA report, which is a little interesting. The Jetta sedan sold 3% more cars this month than a year ago, maybe the only car posting gains? Also interesting is that VW sales for the year are up 0.2% from the same period last year.

Discuss.
