The smell of electronics

Felt it many times before.

Tonight I opened up my new pstwo, fired it up and felt the delightful smell of newbaked electronics once again. Is it the smell of fire-proof chemicals that get to my nose or what is this smell?

Damn, I could pay serious dollars for these fumes. It makes me feel new, exclusive, hell I can't even express the feeling I'm getting in words.

How do you feel about this? How do you relate to the scent of new electronics?
 
I agree, the smell of new electronics is something great to experience. My girlfriend just recently got me an x-box and as soon as I opened the box I went "ahhhhhhhh"
The last time I got to smell that was when we got our new computer last year. Stunk up the whole house for several days with the pleasant aroma. :)
Oh wait we just recently got a video card too.
The smell is almost as good as when a new game comes with a book. The new book smell. :lol:
You also cant forget the smell of car audio. Ohh thats the best! Amps, subs, decks..... mmmmmm

isn't that smell from the chemicals used from processing and manufacturing the equipment? Just like the "New Car Smell", it's probably full of harmful stuff. Still, the new electronics smell is the best 👍
 
The funkiest smell in the world has to be the "I've left this on for hours in an area with ****-all cooling and the sun's also shining on it so now it's burning" smell. That smell rules.

New books smell awful.

New electronics smell good (mmm... silicon)

Too bad I never got that smell after I built my comp. The smell must be from the factory...
 
New books smell good. Your textbook might not smell good because it has been sitting in a smelly school all summer until you got it. It probably smells like mold from the schoolbuilding or something.
 
New car scent is good, but the smell of instruction booklets inside a PS2 game are my fetish.
 
Try out the Under Car Wiring Harness smell, the distinct smell has some relation to burning money but I just can't determine the relation. :dunce:
