The solution to end all grinding.

One simple update to GT5 could end the boring grinding sessions while giving GT5 a LOT more play value: PD should integrate Arcade Mode style races into GT Mode that pay out CR/XP. We could FINALLY use our favorite cars in competitive races while progressing in the game. The mechanics is all there in Training Mode, just the automatic (and maybe better adjusted) opponent selection and rewards would have to be added. Brand races could add further value, the ultimate solution would be you can PICK the opponents from either all cars, or cars in your garage within a certain HP range. Custom A-Spec races FTW!

What do you guys think, Kaz shold be considering this, it's a no brainer, isn't it?

champ in a hip
Heh. :D

Agreed; I think it'd be a good idea. :)

Though, how would CR / XP payouts work? I think a room that had you in a X1 versus your mate in a Kei car should pay out differently than a full room with a more even playing field. (That is to say: if the payouts were huge, what would stop people from abusing them?)

Agree, I can't go around Indy one more time. Plus we should get a champinahip creater (stupid phone, I'm not fixing that)

WitH the rubber band trick you do not have to. OP, good idea. Allow the user to setup their own race series. The harder you make it, the more points and XP.

Yes, but that would also take away from what PD intended for the game. They most likely wanted the cars to be somewhat random because it would present more of a challenge. Though it says the likely cars may only get up to 500 HP, there could be a 600 HP car in the race, but I digress.

On the other hand picking the cars in the race with with a set if guidelines would help a lot for me with the Historic Racing Cup in mind.

I agree with this idea. Only thing is, I notice in arcade mode the AI are awfully slow - even on the hardest setting (of which there are just three). This would need adapting first. I enjoy racing my own cars in arcade or practice mode but I always feel like I'm wasting time that could otherwise be spent grinding actual races. Also, some of the tracks don't even seem to feature in GT mode at all, or don't feature enough. This idea would rectify this issue, even to the extent that you can compete in races on custom made tracks

If they did it right, the game would become near-epic, in my opinion.
So long as they added the option for fuel consumption and tire wear.

I've had this same idea pretty much since I ran out of events (bar endurance) - and no way of getting to the latter enduro levels without grinding

Choose your car, choose your opponents, choose your track, choose single race or championship (choose other tracks if applicable), with xp and credits calculated on

a: How difficult you make it for yourself
b: Your current level

Or (easier) just import one make races into the main bit for a standard amount of xp/credit per race

Either implementation would take a spec from 100+ races to pretty much infinity.

You name it, why should enjoy racing ones own cars be equal to wasting time? Current A-Spec races either forbid to use your favorite car, or there is no competition because the AI is creepingly slow.

Seemed to not be a challenge for Turn 10 Studios when they made Forza 3...

Agreed. I would love the have CR/XP in arcade mode. It would mean I would actually start using arcade!

I can't stand Indy anymore. I've just done the LtW:Indy too often. Right now I grind La Sarthe with the X2010 in Dream Car championship. Reasonable payout, reasonable XP and a good way to learn to control the X2010 a bit better.

Goo idea.

The crazy thing about Indy is it only during 4 min.!!! and i can't stand too!!! i let Bob to do the dirty job.

If only you didn't need to pay for a Live subscription to be able to use it - the only reasons I pay for mine at all are to create custom single-player races and to use the storefront.

I also feel very strongly about this feature. We're all complaining about how short the career is, and PD's solution is the seasonal events. These are fine, but not sufficient. See, there are over 1,000 cars racing on over 70 tracks, so it's impossible to take the career in a direction that everyone is happy with.

The only solution is to let us do it ourselves. You can bet the reason that the Track Creator was implemented was that PD weren't confident with their track selection, so decided to give us the freedom to create something we personally want (within reason, but that's another topic). Extending that idea to GT5's career is the only possible solution.

A while back I proposed my outline for a system very similar to this; you may want to take a look.

Not trying to steal the idea from you, but that's my contribution to the cause.

Here is my solution to grinding:

Remember it's a game intended for leisure and the money and experience is made up and of no use outside of the world of GT .

Idea sounds good, but people will find a way of abusing this, i already know a way to get 1 up on the AI in arcade mode but if they stop this work-around and introduce arcade races that pay out, i think it would be very popular.

I like the idea

Plus there were special company races in GT5P (ex: Ford GT race) and I can't believe they took it out!

I thought you had an actual solution to grinding, not hoping PD would give us something we actually wanted. I've given up on that ever happening. My solution - max out your prize GT LM spec II. American GT and Indy (exciting track I know). Spice up the race - make it interesting. See how many times you can get the opposition to actually spin out. You can make up about 8-9 seconds a lap, so if you crash(you will) you can make it up. You get 117K Cr. for driving like an r-tard. Not a lot of exp points, but I need a Ferrari F1 more than I need exp (thanks seasonal events). Problem solved.

My solution for grinding :
The online races must pay more Cr/Exp depending on the opponents cars and the power to weight ratio.
Bring back the seasonal events with all the regulations (SE 1&2)
More career events.
More special events.

As slayclops said above...
Make online racing more rewarding + I want online 3 track Cups where winners get a bonus ticket with a random car. 10 racers 10 laps = 100 000 Cr and 10 000 Xp.
