I am most likely going to show my age here, but the Star Trek game that released yesterday is something I have been waiting for a very long time.
Ever since I saw the TOS show called "The Arena" back in 1983 at my Grandma's house, the Gorn have always been fascinating to me. Sure, the FX from that show were laughable by todays standards, but idea of fighting that lizard race as Captain Kirk was something my childhood dreams were full of.
When my parents bought a NES for us for Christmas in 1987, my childhood fantasy had the potential to come true. Fast forward to 2013, I am now 39 and I found myself laughing when I was able to shoot a Gorn in the face with my Phaser. All my wife could do was role her eyes and sarcastically ask if I was "having fun" as I was using my Tricorder to scan a dead Vulcan.
Sure, it's not perfect, but you ever wanted to beam down to a planet and shoot Gorns, this game is for you. It has spit screen and online co-op and so far is an absolute blast to play.
