I got Jay leno's tank car after finishing gold in one of the A-spec series. Big lump of heavy metal that thing is. Is it just for drag racing bcuz i dont think that thing will go round corners. Anybody else has it and what do you do with it?? Its got 900+ hp btw:dopey:

Could you possibly not use slang/textspeak, in the AUP is says not to, thanks.

Anyway, yeah I have the car, its fun for a bit with drifting it, however after about 15 mins of spinning I got bored with it and have never really had the urge to go back to it.

It's there to provide comic relief, and to annoy people who get too upset too easily online. May also be useful for ruining the days of people who like to spend their days ruining other people's days online.

Honestly, it's really just cool to know a piece of machinery like that exists. It's not very useful as an actual race car, except maybe at Route X.

I don't think it's there as a comic relief. That car is a work of art. I enjoy it so much and wish it would be premium to see all of its mechanical details. It doesn't work for racing, but it is a lot of fun to drive at a moderate pace.

Gotta love the old Blastolene 👍

It's really only meant for daily commuting and economy..

Any route X figures? Im so intrigued now, never thought about it till this! I smell a one make race online in my near future!

It is actually awesome for driving on snow! Try it in Chamonix or Alaska (in cockpit view of course), you'll be amazed!

I bought it from the UCD to get rid of some credits as I never had it GT4. Not much use in the game but I suppose it is (as mentioned above) a unique custom work.

I did do a couple of runs on the speed test but really can't remember the times - not fast. I think quarter mile was something like 16 seconds. Might try it for drifting or something.

Perfect for stopping trolls in X2010-2011's.

As said above, it is brilliant when it comes to snow. Anything else and you can just forget it. Me and some mates had a one make race around Indy Oval in them. Wasnt too bad, was quite interesting to see the tyres give in at 200km/h around the corner under the immense weight and watching everyone slide half the corner...

As strange as it might sound, it does work well for drifting. The long (extra long) wheelbase gives it a lot of stability. Probably the reason why most people love it in snow.

The only downside is that the transmission can't be tuned, limiting the car to around 250kmh and only to tracks with moderate straights. Yes it has 900hp and a lot of torque, but it also weights about 6000 pounds, so it really doesn't feel faster than a 200hp car.

Like a boss! This is the upgraded version with twin turbo chargers. The mod however was made to improve fuel efficiency. The side effects were that the car now produces around 1500HP.

Seriously, how can car enthusiasts not like this car. I will say it again, I wish this thing was a premium to take pictures of al these parts.

This. I raced it on Alaska online, and I was occupied for around 35 minutes, and I never last that long without changing car. I was thrashed in the race though.

So true about X2010 trolls, I remember that day in a drifting lobby, it was very respectul until that kid took a X2010 and starts ruining everybody's fun. I took my tank car, waiting just before Tsukuba pit lane and rammed the colored redbull as he exits the last corner.

I just discovered that if you detune the big old Blastolene it actually makes a more than capable 500pp car. I grind the 500pp A-Spec Seasonals and have no problem winning with street tires and no assists. Those 900hp are useless if you can't never put them on the ground, plus the car is limited to 250kmh/150mph, so there is really no use for them.

With only 600hp the car performs like any other 300hp+ sports car. Yes it's heavy but with 1500lbft of torque, it moves like a Nissan Silvia and it has no problems reaching the max speed as quick as with the 900hp, but without the excesive burning of the tires.

Try it:tup:

Best thing to do with the Jay Leno Tank Car is simple: Oval Racing. Take it to Indianapolis and do some one make races....fantastic fun. The car is utterly beautiful and makes a great noise, and with fast corners it really comes to life. The open wheel nature of the cars mean you have to be careful when racing without being too hard.

It's with these fast circuits that driving the tank car is really fun. Indy, High speed ring, Daytona, Monza (No chicane) etc. Taking it round anything else is a waste of time though, try going through the two back-to-back hairpins on the Indy road course. It will do it, but you'll get bored in the middle of it due to the time it takes.

Shame it's only limited to 150mph though.

I love the Tank Car but unfortunately it's gathered an online image problem it seems by being misused so often, it's a lot of fun if you do a Tank Car-only race (which in itself is quite funny since there's only one real life example) on a variety of tracks using Sports Soft tyres or less.

What's more, every time I drive it I can't help but think how much fun it would be if PD included some vintage 20's and 30's road and racecars which would no doubt handle better and would be far less powerful and therefor much more useable as serious racing machinery offering the sort of thrills not available now.

It's a very cool car for the green hell. :)

Was that you driving? If it was, props to you for taking a car that weighs more than my house around the Núrburgring in 7 minutes 32 seconds  .
