Dear Mr. Yamauchi and Polyphony Digital
Thank you very much for giving us the best driving simulator on the planet!
I do however have a few thoroughly contemplated thoughts that I hope you will consider.
Keep A-spec alive: evolve it!
In racing, being 1st. isn't always the most important thing, or the most fun. I really would like to see races where all cars on track are more evenly matched, as an example 490-500pp, where one is rewarded for the number of places you climb during the race instead of simply getting 1st. place with a car that out-performs all the other ones on the track. This would lead to more exciting races where one really needs to drive well, especially if the AI is less linear.
I feel that the way A-spec races are now, have not changed much since Gran Turismo 1, and this really is a big grief for me. I hope you will consider it.
I would also like to see more European cars that are realistic to buy in real life, for a young European adult with great passion for cars, such as BMW E30 and E36 M3 as well as older 325i and 328i in Gran Turismo. I cannot say how long I have been waiting for these to cars to make it into the game. The selection of supercars in Gran Turismo is formidable, but it really does need more 70's, 80's and 90's European cars.
In adding more and more classic cars, as Gran Turismo is becoming increasingly more realistic, the cars in the game are becoming like an immortalized record of them that allow anyone to experience what they were like, when they cannot in real life, and even when they do not exist anymore in the future and this is something very special indeed. Gran Turismo should not be finished until it contains all cars ever made.
And please, please give us back Tahiti Maze and Pikes Peak.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely yours, Robert S. Robertsen.
