From perusing this forum since the game's release, it is obvious there are three major issues that divide us: grinding, duping and AI.
PD has attempted to address these in one way or another. And their "solutions" are puzzling and divisive.

Grinding is a major issue because there are not many events. Being at level 35 A-Spec and 40 B-Spec, I haven't turned my game on in over a week. There is nothing I haven't done that I want to do and the payout for those repeat events have even been lessened. Why? At one instance they increase the Credits won. Then they increase the XP won...but also decrease the Credits. People grind for the money and XP because they want all of the desirable cars. PD pacified some with "Seasonal Events"...which are fun, for the most part. But not a permanent fix. Why such a disconnect between the real issues and solutions? They are reactionary and illogical. And this leads to...

Duping. We dupe to get the cars we want but cannot afford. What does PD do? Reacts and pulls the plug on duping.

Next is the AI. This is a problem since it is too easy to win practically every single racing event in the entire game. What does PD do to correct this? One example is changing the NASCAR settings to make the races more difficult. Instead of correcting the true issue, they apply a wet bandaid. Again, reactionary and illogical.

In summary PD needs to grow a set and stop pandering. They need to either fix the heart issues of the game OR say to all of us "this is the game...take it or leave it" and leave it be. The additions have been good and welcome, for the most part...but it is very difficult to say whether the changes made to the game's "default" settings have made it better or worse.

changing the NASCAR settings to make the races more difficult.

I don't even play A-Spec, but I find that change infuriating. It's the height of incompetence.

PD refuses to communicate, and they refuse to act rational half of the time.

And on top of that, they can still make the games good enough that their worth buying (GT5 is saved by online). I seriously hope a competitor shows up on PS3. It should be fairly easy to unseat them, and everyone would benefit.

In there defence, 90% of the people here don't act rational either. Two-way street.

something along the lines of forza for ps3 would be the go.

Unfortunately, Forza doesn't seem to care enough to get the physics right. And the online was in FM3 was so bad. The racing was fun, but I guess what I felt each time I opened online only to be greeted with lack luster options that belong in an arcade racer is what the people who were let down by GT5's A-Spec feel.

I'd just like to see someone bring a true sim to a console. Steal PD's "real driving simulator [even though tire grip is a constant]" and "We love cars [even though we don't let you drive them]" marketing, but then actually make a game that lives up to the marketing.

I raelly don't understand grinding. I race online and the small amount of credits I get are enough to keep me interested. Every race is a new race and a new opportunity for me to improve my skills (both racing and tuning). I don't expect to hit level 40 2 months after getting the game. It will be years before a new one comes out so take your time and race online if you get bored.

Yeah I never played FM3 online, but I had alot of fun modding the cars, and yes, racing was alot of fun. But I have gotten into GT5 alot more these days and due to that I've sold my 360 :P

what we need is everything forza has (mods, car selection, tracks, paint, wheels, etc..) with gt5 physics and beauty. i love gt games. ive had every one from the start. but every time i play gt5 there is something that irritates me or makes me say "wtf? why cant i do that?" dont even get me started on the essential grinding thats needed with this game...there are just so many things wrong with this game, its not even cool. its fun at times but over all, not worth the wait.

Sorry, I don't enjoy spending my time with the heap of immature idiots that represents the majority of the internet populace today.
I think I prefer driving against a group of Bobs over driving against 13 year olds.

So.. no, online is not an alternative to a qualitative A-Spec career mode.

Wow, Someones quick to judge. Online is not all that bad. Ok, there are a few that ruin it i.e X2010 in a drift lobby or in a "fair racing" lobby. But come on, I Havent had a problem with "13 year olds" at all. There was once and he was calling us all "****wits" and "B****es" But that was 1 time like over a month ago. I enjoy online racing and I agree, The A.I needs to be improved and so do the rewards. But really, "The heap of immature idiots that represent the majority of the internet populace". really necessary? If I wanted to play with a bunch of immature 13 year olds, I would turn on black ops and camp on some rock and wait for a 13 year old to abuse me for it. But no, Im gonna stay with GT5 Because I love the online community and the challenges that alot of the races bring.
End Rant.

Wow, you should maybe try it first. Large number of people online are grown adults not children. And find the right room and right crowd and you'll get far better races than A spec will ever give you

Online racing in gt5 is great, to bad the online mode is poorly implemented. The public servers i really like.

Well, with that statement, you really sound "mature". Maybe it is you that are immature, i mean judging by your statements. Ypu are only mad because you cant keep up with the cool racers online, thats it man.

On GTP? No, say it aint so!!

Why not use these forums or others that have gaming sub forums to find people to race with rather than joining random lobbies? Mature racers are out there but hitting random open lobbies can be frustrating.

Well, thats life right? Life is about search and find.

I'm with you buddy. I have yet to grind. Ofcourse I have yet to complete A-spec but like I said before I am playing for joy no like I have to own every car and beat the game next week. I haven't done the last 3 championships because I'm not going to leave my ps3 on that long and I don't have the time to do the whole championship at once. I am still having fun. I'm sure I do like most people that don't grind, sometimes I drive a car around a track for a hour or two and then just turn it off. For me it is the joy of driving not the joy of completing the game.

I have only done the grind once so far. Needed another million or so to afford the FGT. It isn't fun, and when doing it you try and make it interesting to try and beat your fastest lap.

Anyway, I really only play A-spec now when new seasonal events are out and 5 races a week doesn't really hold my interest for very long. What I would like to see is a new hall of events that you need to be A-spec level 30 or something, but not endurance. Just championship races or a simple race series. Races would payout more than the Extreme hall so grinding could at least be reduced if not completly eliminated. Perhaps with mild restrictions so you can't just blow the doors off the competition.

@ brambos, get a group of likeminded friends together or join a group thats already up and running.
If you don't believe this can happen look up GBRC on here. Brilliant online racing with flourishing classes, no bashers or idiots just clean online racing in private lounges.
