What a pile of garbage! The camper van one! Has anyone got 1st place? I know I aint that great at the game but still I can only get 5th max! And I can't see how I could go any quicker! Then the Elise one and the car is just rubbish stock so I can't get no better than bronze in that either!

Any tips?
 
Yes, I have a gold in both. I think there were some videos posted on YouTube to help with these races, but I do not recall. The key is making up ground on the 2-3 corners, into the hammerhead, and the second to last corner. If you search, these races have been covered in-depth in the forums.
 
The Elise race is hard, you just gottab brake extremely late, and I mean 10-20 meters late, turn all aids off except abs 1 and ASM.
 
I take all AIDS off apart from ABS 1. I'm not using ASM to win it. That's not how I work. I am braking late and passing a few but I'm all over the shop and can't keep the thing pointed in the direction it should be. I've not give it too much effrort in all honesty though coz it pisses me off that much lol.
 
The VW Bus challenge is pretty easy.. You just have to slipstream like crazy, I got gold on it first try using that strategy.

Well, I know I don't classify it as easy....;) I only golded it last night, been trying on and off since November 25th...:lol:
General tip..a bit of gentle "nudging" does not hurt either. 👍 Just don't smash them.. = FAIL !
 
To win the Lotus one if you buy yourself a stock Elise, fit it with Comfort Hards then just go do some laps of the TG Test Track in Practise.

You need to learn the track properly & also how the car is going to behave in the turns if you are to have any chance of winning.
 
The 2 slow ones just dont hit the rev limiter EVER and try not to brake too much, the elise one is probably the hardest race I've done so far I had to turn on ASM because I span too much
 
With the elise, be smooth, don't whack full power on, gently feather it in, same with breaking, be gentle with it. It's an amazing car, just with comfort tyres, that's only so much that can be done...

The camper one is easy, the 1st,2nd, 3rd and last but one corner is where i made up most my places, i was first by the 2nd corner on the 2nd lap


The Lotus one i found was easiest, didnt find it hard to control at all, (with a DS3 to) golded it second time after a slight touch resulted in a restart, just take your time with them :)
 
You think its hard now, you shoulda tried it when the game was first released! It was close on impossible for all but a minority of people, then they released a patch and suddenly everyone had gold on the first attempt.
 
It took me a long time to do the Camper one. I only have Bronze on the Elise but the Kubelwagen is by far the easiest (though its the advanced/expert race) despite its 50mph limit.
 
You dont say if you use manual gears? If you do never miss a change up it costs you like 3 seconds a lap (with the Samba Bus) and you just cant afford that time. Keep at it! I found that with practice I could get to 4th place on the first lap and then win on the second. Anywhere above 4th place starting the second lap is tricky though. I think I did it from 5th place ONCE and the final part of the lap was a bit hairy to get the win!

As people have said The Lotus one is the hardest. It nearly made me cry! Cant complain though it kept me occupied for hours. I hate Video games I can finish easily in an afternoon! I think gold on the Lotus challenge took me a good few days gaming sessions. It just needs practice!!!!!!!!!

The Kubelwagon was a bit of a let down. I sat down for it thinking I was in for a similar challenge as the first 2 and "Golded" it first time!

Can anyone confirm this? I haven't bothered to try either challenge since the 1.05 patch.
 
I have tried this 1,304,504,505 times and I either hit someone, go off the track, or finish 4th or 5th in the lotus race.. its driving me insane
 
I tried a lot of times before I got it, took about an hour. But I ended up having to turn ASM on because I could get 5th on the first lap less than half done but the 4 guys in front sped up so much faster and without ASM I couldnt keep the traction accelerating out of corners like they can. Turned it on golded right away.
 
I'd not re-attempted the Samba bus one for a while but was keen to open the Top Gear test track, to practice drifting on.

I accidentally started the race in 'Automatic', I normally use a G27 with manual shifts. Well.. Rather than 'Restart' I carried on and by not messing up any shifts (the G27 can be a pain with that) I got a silver, then re-tried and got Gold, by a decent distance.

Super precise slip-streaming and automatic seems the easiest way fot the Samba bus.
 
I did the Elise one with no aids at all. I did use the RA menu to adjust the brake bias however (which is absolutely necessary without ABS). Took a while but the key is smooth steering inputs. Button not Hamilton.
 
Gold on all of them,

1st challenge: brake only when you have no choice
2nd challenge: be careful of using the throttle too early and too much
3rd challenge: theres really no need for braking ever, just lift off the throttle (if you have to)

For all three turn all the driving aids off they slow you down, maybe abs 1 for the lotus one but the cars are generally really slow so slipstream and only go for an over take if theres a clear path in front of you 👍
