Mate of mine had a Vectrex - good little unit with some pretty neat games. Vector graphics were pretty cool.

I've played a Jaguar, which I believe had something in the range of 20 games ... total. And I've played TubroGrafx, which again had about 20 games.

The Saturn and the Dreamcast may have been just a bit ahead of their time. And lack of marketing, as I recall, was their downfall.

Where's NeoGeo? The $600 console that couldn't (:

Technically, its not dead:lol:

They still put games out for it, they just cost an arm and a leg.

You're not serious? That console is over 12 years old. Where might one go to find such a critter?

Wow ... that's really amazing. So when was the last time the hardware was updated? Is this actually the same console from my youth?

I am unsure, but I saw and arcade gaming Neo Geo for $199 in that list :D That would be dope. I believe there was a way to load new games into it. . .

The systems can be somewhat hard to find, but this place seem to have them every so often.

It's easy to see we Sega pulled out of the console market when they have three of the top five on that list. I'd just like to add another

Sega Game Gear

I was just wondering, what was the very first CD Rom game console? Everybody here in the US thinks it's the Panasonic sysytem, but I think that's not correct. I could have sworn there was a CD Rom game console by Philips in the later part of 1988, which sold until late 1989, early 1990.

Am I dreaming this, or what? I can still remember the adds for a golf game that looked similar to leaderboard golf.

WOW i never knew the virtual boy can cause perminent eye damage...Sheesh...I still own mine in its original box an everything...I was one of the 10 people who bought it

Wow I remeber a few of those like Virtual Boy, Sega CD, and Sega Saturn, they were popular for like a month then no one ever played with them again

i still have my dreamcast.

i tought this console was so underated.

i think people were saving up money for the ps2 , so i think that's why the dreamcast was a console that never made it.(in my opinion)

I think it was the CD-i system, and that Philips had some tie in with Nintendo to form the basis of what was to become the SNES, along with Sony. I think there was a huge spat (from memory I think Nintendo wanted to cut Sony out of the deal and go with Philips, but they were tied in somehow) and project fell to bits, and provided the basis of the original Playstation.

Ooh - bit of a trawl through Google turned this up. Enjoy.

The Turbografx CD was the first CD-ROM console. It was an add on to the Turbografx 16. The Phillips CD-i was released in 1991. Could that have been it?

Try reading the linked article. There's no words like "wut" or "u", but you just might be able to muddle your way through. There you will learn why Sega is included. Go, now.
