GTP, hello again.

Ever since seeing segments of the 2004 NFL Draft, I began to ask myself "what is the toughest turn in racing?" Is it the sweeping corner at Willow Springs? The SLOW hairpin at Donnington Park's GP Course? The slower hairpin at Monte Carlo? Or maybe even the dreaded Laguna Seca Corkscrew, perchance? Sound off on what is the toughest turn in racing.
 
All depends on what kind of car you are in.But,just all around tough,I would have to say Laguna Seca.Just because the track falls away from you as you take the turn.
 
The VB Dipper on Bathurst? That's quite tough
 
If I remember right,that is a down hill cork screw turn,or am I wrong on that one?
 
Alot of the turns at bathurst would be tough and so would the corkscrew at Laguna seca.
 
The whole set of turns, including The Dipper, that makes up The Esses, starting at the first right hander which falls off the end of Skyline. Ever stood at the start of McPhillamy Park so you could see along Skyline and see how quickly the cars seem to fall off the end of the road as they take that right hander? The television doesn't do the track justice, you have to drive around it before you can appreciate how steep it is, especially the first part immediatley after The Cutting and going down the other side from Skyline to Forrests Elbow.
 
The hairpin at Monaco is tough in the sense that the F1 cars' maximum lock of the wheels has to be heightened so that they can make it around.
The corkscrew always makes drivers a little uneasy I bet.
Blind corners can be demanding too.
 
If any of you guys buy F1 Racing, look at an article about 3/4 of the way through, Herman Tilke of Bahrain, Sepang, Shanghai fame desinged a track with the best corners in the world, and linked them all together

The track is about 12km long (8Miles) and would take a tick under 3 minutes to complete and has an average speed of 250km/h

That being said I reckon the Corckscrew (which made it onto this track) would be one of the hardest purely due to the elevation change, or even some corners on the old Nurburgring track
 
yeah i saw that "the ultimate f1 rack" if only it existed. i reakon any fast and blind corner on a street circuit would have to be the toughest turn, because if you get it wrong, you will eat concrete. one that comes to mind was the fast chicaine at the miami strret circuit for the ALMS and Champcars last year. it was fast and blind, plus a massive bump right on the apex. very tough and you had to get it just right or you would either be to slow and loe time or eat ****, like oriol servia last year. he hit the concrete wall big time
 
Man, I forgot the Nurburging. The most recognized turn is probabbly that one left-hander where the surface changes and it has some massive banking, which you have to take appropriately otherwise the turn will spit you right out.
 
two words for hardest corner in racing : Lowes Hairpin
 
The Miami street circuit from Champ Cars last year looked tough. Out of 19 starters 9 people finished. It can't have been easy, plus they had to put up with the heat.
 
The first turn at Sebring International raceway. Its a high-Speed turn on airport concrete. You have to take that one the the most caution.
 
My vote goes to the Eau Rouge-Radillion complex at Spa.

Honorable Mention: Turn One at Indy, after a month of hype. That's pressure, no doubt.

I can't remember what it's called (maybe 130R), at Suzuka that Allan McNish totalled a Toyota at a few years back. It's a high speed, flat corner.

I've always liked Adelaide at Magny-Cours, for some reason.

Or the first corner at Brands Hatch (Paddock? I forget)
 
I agree with Eau Rouge at Spa. Some brazilian tracks have some amazing as well.

The old Interlagos (before the new track was created for F1).

And Jacarepaguá. "Curva Sul" is famous for it's difficulty. And after it there's a another tight corner. People that follows F1 will remember it from the 80's.
 
What about a loop on a hot wheels track, I imagine that would be pretty tough.

The corkscrew at laguna seca has to be one of the tuffest
...

I went true it at 100 (more or less) mph during spring break... the track manager gave me a ride :D

I am in the lucky few...
It was so great... Experience of a life time (and im just 16)
