The Toyota TS050 should have more ERS than the Audi R18

But it doesn't. This is something that has been known for a while, but the introduction of ERS charge in the HUD and a test drive of the Porsche 919 got me thinking about this again. Said test drive unearthed for me that the Porsche having both an MGU-K and GU-H is the reason why it never runs out of boost like the other cars, which is expected from an 8MJ class car.

Problem is, the Toyota TS050 is also an 8MJ class car with double MGU-K's, yet it doesn't seem to regenerate energy under brakes any better than the 6MJ class, single MGU-K Audi R18. This lack of energy that it should have seems to be why the Toyota is considered by many to be the slowest 2016 LMP1 car in Gran Turismo Sport.

I don't know if this potential issue will ever get fixed, but I do think it has a greater chance of being looked at now that ERS is at the forefront in these cars rather than hidden away.
