Hello People! :) Yesterday I just realized that PD included (maybe without even knowing) the Triple Crown of Motorsports in the game!!! :D

The events that compound this achievement are:

-Monaco Grand Prix (Cote de Azur Race in FGT Championship)
-24hrs of Le Mans
-Indianapolis 500

I think we should get at least a silver trophy for achieving this... since all of them are very demanding races (even for console play) :)

I've won only the Indy 500, and since I declared myself imcompetent for the FGT :nervous:, I think I'll only get 2 of the 3 events... (I plan to do Le Mans after the game save feat. arrives)

Post your commets here :)

He's right. According to Wikipedia (yeah, I use it, so what?), the Triple Crown of Motorsport is an unofficial achievement that regards to winning the Indy 500, Monaco Grand Prix, and the Le Mans 24hrs in one career of racing. The reason of those three events is that they are the most famous and prestigious events than any other racing events. Wikipedia also reveals that Three Crowns actually shows up as a collection of achievements sharing the same goal -- completing three most prestigious events on a certain sport.

Pretty nice to people who accomplished this. Since I did the Monaco (the real-world Monaco Grand Prix is 78 laps, but I guess 20/30 laps is close enough) and the Indy 500, all I have to do is the Le Mans.

Pretty sure no one will replicate this acomplishment (in the real world) in a long time, maybe never... this makes me wanna give another shot to the FGT :) just for the lulz :D

I am 2/3 of the way to the Triple Crown :) - just the 24 @ LeMans to finish it off........... Nothing like saving the best for last. :ouch:

Woohoo! I completed the Triple Crown after finishing the 24 Hours of Le Mans last week.

Wooo!!! Congrats! Mr. Graham Hill salutes you! :)

This is pretty cool actually. I had no idea a triple crown of sorts existed in motorsports. I have two of them done, the 500 and Cote and it's going to be awhile before I reach the 24 hour race.

UK viewers might still be able to catch 'Driven: The Graham Hill Story' on BBC's iPlayer.

Well worth seeing!

Sadly there's no fourth crown for an F1 World Champion whose son also goes on to be F1 World Champion!

I wish we could have the enduro triple crown which is 24 hours of Le Mans, 24 hours of Daytona, and the 12 hours of sebring.

Heck, even if we could swap it out for a triple 24 hour set that would be awesome.

24 hours if Daytona would be insane.

Not to mention quite boring as half the race would involve drafting, but it would be kinda cool.

I disagree with you on the part of the Indy 500 being difficult. I run laps around Indy while half asleep. Remember that scene in Talladega Nights where Jean Girard is reading a book during a race? That's more or less me running at Indy (and Daytona, of course, but Daytona isn't part of this topic).

Indianapolis winner . Le Mans winner. Monaco Grand Prix winner . F1 World Champion.

Edit- sorry I didn't see the posts further down lol

Wohoo! I completed the Cote de Azur race! :) I was hard, but I got it in the end :D

Now I'm only missing Le Mans... :ouch: Hope the In-race-save feature get's here quick... or I'm not going to make it... :scared:

Anyone else here is part of the "Triple Crown Club"???

Which Cote de Azur race are we talking about?
I've done Indy 500 and set aside this weekend for the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Graham Hill also saved Jackie Stewart's life one rainy day in Belgium in '66. He was truly one of the heroic drivers in every sense of the word.

I wish I could find this picture again, but years ago I saw a shot of Graham Hill, I think it was in his BRM at Monaco. The background of the entire picture was one large rock wall. There was nothing between Hill's car and the wall (to his right), and his right rear wheel had just come off. So there he is in his wooden helmet, sticking well above the roll hoop that's supposed to protect him, sitting in a tub surrounded by high octane racing fuel in a car that's about to dart toward the rock wall at 90 mph. And he saved it!

Those guys were just unbelievable. 👍

👎 Because GT5 relates to real life and the actual races so great, pat yourself on the back and petition to have your name on the trophy.

Graham Hill would be the only guy who achieved the actual triple crown of 4-wheel motorsports --- F1, Indy, and Le Mans.

Edit: can't help posting...sorry for being repetitive but he's a true gentleman & legend.

It's the Cote de Azur Race in the FGT Championship :)

Too bad it's only 20 laps BTW :yuck:

Juan Pablo Montoya is the only living person to achieve 2/3 so far. All he has to win Le Mans 24hr. Still plenty of time for him to achieve that.

Anybody else remember Gran Turismo 1's triple crown? Normal Series, Tuned Series, and World Championship?

I can NOT imagine a NASCAR driver in Le Mans.
Then again, I can NOT imagine a Formula 1 driver in NASCAR.

There's no Daytona 500... :(

So are you saying that you don't watch very much NASCAR? Quite a few have made the switch.
