I recently did the spring mod in the brake pedal, works great, much better feel.

I also change my shifter to Forward= Upshift, Shift= Downshift.

Since I drive/play barefoot, I wrapped my pedals in that toolbox/cupboard lining, makes a huge difference with control, sounds weird but I use both feet! Also wrapped the pedal base with it too, easier on the heels after a few hours of playing.

I have never used a top of the line wheel yet, but the DFGT is light years ahead of my MS wheel.

I've had my DFGT for a while now, and I must say it is a great little wheel to play around with. This wheel has completely changed the way I play GT5. I use the bungie cord mod on the brake and gas pedals to get a little more resistance, the brakes are much more progressive felling now. It's nice to have a stiff brake so you can rest your foot on it, really helps in the long races too:)

Spring mod could you give me some details on that please

Thank you spy, FuSiion, it is quite easy. The hardest part is pulling the spring, if you have a vice it is easier.

What I did, I clamped my pedals upside down with a C-clamp, to hold it in place, be careful not to clamp too hard so you crack your base. Then proceed to follow video details, you can modify the black spring to eliminate the ''clunk'' the brake has.

Hi
Can anyone tell me how to turn the force feedback strength down on a DFGT, it is way too strong for me resulting in massive understeer?

TIA

If you go into your options , scroll down until you come to the row that has all of the wheels on it.

Then click the first option on the left side of your screen & it will give you 3 options-

Steering Type
Force Feedback
Power Steering

If you turn on Power Steering and run your DFGT with 3 forcefeedback , it's a nice setting to use.

Power steering is set to OFF as a default setting by the way , this sounds like your issue to me.

Hi, where do I find these options, are they in the PS3 settings menu or in the GT5 game options menu?

Thanks

2 ways to access them-

Either in the first GT5 screen ( the one with the car animations etc ) and it's the OPTIONS icon.

Or in the GT Life screen ( A-Spec menus etc ) , there is a gear icon on the bottom left of the screen , which takes you to game options and other settings.

:)

Well, I'm on my third brake pedal and now this one has the same problem.

Intermittently loses accelerator power. Sprayed down the connections w/WD40 last nite-haven't tried it yet.

Also-the brake pedal won't work on first application. Have to hit the brake once to get it to start working.

Anyone else have this issue?

yes, I always press accelerator and brake completely at start up to prevent this. It
is no fun going into a wall the first corner with no brakes.

It's like you have brake work done before every race and your mechanic doesn't pump them before he gives you your keys.:grumpy:

Just out of interest, what does the brake pedal spring mod do to the feel of the pedal?

As its just a spring, and not a compressed oil cylinder or something like that,it only makes the pedal a little harder to press down...nothing else...

But at least you don't have the feeling you are pressing a throttle pedal when pressing the brake... :sly:

spy.

WD40 won't help it.
it lubricates things, not good for electrials
use Electrical contact cleaner (no residue) or rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol

could be the connection at the wheel is loose and not the pedals at all
