I've always been a bit leary of Strats. I usually break the high E string whenever I use the whammy bar.
As a result my favorite Fender is a Tele with a humbucker in the neck position and a lace sensor single coil at the bridge.

That's a nice guitar. I recently just got a guitar too, a Fender Standard Strat. It's true that the guitar doesn't stay in tune with the whammy bar. If I leave mines off, it feels like the guitar will always stay in tune.
 
Well, let's see...
I chose an electric guitar category, chose Fender, and the cheapest I could get was an SQUIER M-50 Crimson Red 2 Hum Single Cutaway OR an SQUIER S-65 Crimson Red Double Cutaway 2 Hum which retails for $169.95.

Lets see.. USD 1 = RM 3.40
USD 169.95 = RM 577.83! :eek:

I suppose if my calculations are correct, I'll have to pay a goddamn RM 577.83 for an electric Fender Squier something something. And my current savings is about RM 0, which means I'll have to save a goddamn whole fark of cash to get one.

Which sums up as = FARK!
I'll have to save alotta money, and hopefully I'll get one. And I'll have to add the price of a goddamn amp.

EDIT : I checked again, and the cheapest I could find was a SQUIER Showmaster HS Satin Black, retails at $149., which is about RM 506. I want this guitar (Guess I'm gonna have to starve for the next few years saving money for this guitar)

Yet another EDIT : I've just found out that free shipping is for US only.
 
Why don't you get one of the Squier Packages? They come with an amp, the guitar, books, extra strigs, and a gig bag. It's worth the price and only about $200-300 USD depending on the package you choose. Since your living in Malaysia, I would think it's easier to get a Squier since they're made in Asia.

I had a whammy bar but it constanly got in the way so I took it off and now I've lost it.:odd:
BTW Under18Carbon why don't you get say a kind of crappy begginer make instead of trying to get a good one first. Something like a Stag or something like that should do you fine. My first guitar was a copy of a strat and it did me fine, for my first year until I got my Fender. And it was worth the wait!

Hopefully, I'll wait and get a crappy one first too. But whatever guitar I choose, only one thing that gets in the way.

MONEY.
