I've read alot of posts saying how bad the used car lot is....where you cant get a car you need to show at all. I've had it happen too..But what the heck?? Today, not once, but TWICE in one car lot where I have the same friggin car (as in color, hp, with the only difference being mileage, and even that is only slightly off) multiple times. Its bad enough I have this once of the SAME car THREE times in one lot (NSX Type S Zero '99), but again in the same screen further down I have not one, but TWO efini RX-7 Type RZ (FD) '96's. So in my 30 slot used car lot, I really only have 27 at this point that arent identical.

I mean really?? How hard is it to code this so I dont get the same cars over and over again?? And this isnt the first time I've had it happen. A week or so, I had multiple GTO's (same color, hp, etc except slightly different mileage again).

For a game thats been 5 years in the making and advertises the hell out of it having over 1000 cars, this is pathetic they cant even do what I would figure would be basic randomness to the game. Really, how hard is it to program it in such a way where the same car doesnt get listed multiple times in the same car lot list??

Good Grief.

PD basically just need to toss the used lots and start from scratch. The cars are far too expensive, the mileage rarely makes any sense, the cars have far more wear than they should, and the rotation system is done incredibly poorly.

There are more problems than just that, but fixing that stuff would be a good start.

Sometimes I think it's based on what kind of cars you got plus some randomness.

For example, I was in some beetle-freakness days... I've bought like 6 VW beetles... then, what started to appear more often?

Beetles. At least more 4 of them in the same night.

I did the refresh trick several hundred(yes hundred) times yesterday and into this morning for the Sauber to show up. It did not, everything else did. I wanted to get it before I left today...

It us because it is truly random, that this happens.

Actually, it is because computers can't generate a true random.

Each time you see a loading bar (i.e., loading a track in an event or license), the lot generates six more cars.

Its really annoying when your after one car in particular and when it comes you've purchased another car and your short changed to buy it. Can really tick you off...

True, only a true random generator would be able to repeat the same car over and over again. That's what random stands for, every single car has the same chances of appearing as every other. That said, having the same car three times in a row is improbable, but not impossible.

Did you really just create a thread because you didn't get 30 different cars on the used car lot? It is random, meaning this can and will happen at some point. Reduce the drama a notch or too and carry on.

I get the M3 GTR Race Car like once every few refreshes, and few more like that. Always the same cars its unbelievable.

There is no way that the used lots are anywhere near truly random.

Agreed, more than half of mine are always Level 0 - Level 10 and I'm on Level 29, so why the $hit would I want a level 0-10 car!

You would think it would advance with you... +/- 5 levels!:grumpy:

It's like hunting for treasure. Finding treasure is awesome. I like awesome.

Agreed.👍

Awesome things are awesome.

Edit: I like the UCD, I wouldn't change a thing.

It's amazing what people find to whine about in this game...

It's like everyone expects thus game to be exactly what they want, like they're the only person that matters. They have to try to keep millions of people happy. Sometimes that means they're going to make the choice that pisses off the fewest people. Just because you are one of the people pissed doesn't mean they messed up. It just means this was a choice where you weren't with the majority.

Deal with it or go back to playing Black Ops...

And the lot is random, its just that each car has a value attached to it that determines how often it pops up. That is what makes some cars rare and some common.

I enjoy a "Let's see what's available now" feeling but it's ruined by the fact there are no true surprises. I know a Sauber is in there, I've seen it, I have the money for it but it's now not showing up. This isn't exactly fun or exciting, it's just annoying. Having a used car with lesser known domestic cars is perfect, I love this. I wouldn't sweat trying to find a CR-X... but to have multi-million cr. race cars in a used car lot? It's kinda silly! :dopey:

For the same reason your post went largely unnoticed - it was a silly complaint.
Actually, no, everything I said are completely valid criticisms thing that should be fixed and were done right in previous games in the series (not to mention other games), so you know, troll harder next time; but that wasn't my point.

The posts I was referring to were praising something that the OP didn't actually take any issue with, so it is rather clear that they didn't read the OP when they came into the thread. In fact, based on what the OP is suggesting (more variety in the used car lots), they are actually in part agreeing with the OP and acting dismissive towards it at the same time.

We like awesome, because nothing beats awesome.

Seriously, that post is just a complete victory for the word awesome.

My idea on the UCD is in the middle, I love the randomness, but I want to something cool every now and again. Sometimes I just like to read car info, but there's nothing fun to read.

Sure they can, for all practical purposes.

**********

Anyone that watches the UCD for any length of time can tell it's not truly random. They are trying to make it appear that way, but there are several triggers at work under the surface that skew the results.
