Welcome all to the ‘Weekly Arcade Time Attack’ series, whereby the ultimate aim is to be able to establish GTPlanet-dominated 'online rankings' for each and every car & track combination posted on each Sunday that begins the week, as well as helping find our true positions of skill amongst all the online GTP racers here.


Once you think that you've nailed your best time, post it and I'll update the first page. The combinations for each week will be decided via PM'd suggestions from participants. I may, however, need to alter some combinations depending on their suitability (short-to-medium length tracks and reasonably easy-to-maneuvre vehicle are currently most sought).

Will seriously jump into this - I love this Mazda (well at least I did love the Bathurst version in GT4) and Suzuka East might just be the track to teach me a bit about pro mode here & there :lol:

I shouldn't perform very well on this one as I hate this track :yuck:

The last turn is soooooo Unnatural and blind... I really hate that turn :yuck::yuck:
 
I'll get eaten again, but what the hey.

+1 to what Wayne said about the final corner.

The RX-7's speedo only does 180km/hr, what ever will I do?:lol:

I'm with you there no matter how much I practise I just can't nail that turn. :dunce:
 
I'm in a bind, with a SIXAXIS there is just no control over the tail end without having TCS on; however, TCS ruins your acceleration :indiff: I really think we need to try a race in Standard mode at some point to see if the divide between wheel and controller users is as pronounced.

Having said that I will enjoy the challenge of trying to brute force this beast around the track with TCS fighting me all the way :sly:👍 So far I've got:

I may run another session later in the week to improve this time, as there's still some to take.
 
Did a 10 lap try and 57.902
Was behind ghost of n°1 but screwed last corner and missed one gear change 100m before finish line :sick:

I have to agree with everyone.

First time on this circuit, done three laps, and all I can say is... What a tricky last corner.

The WR hold is using a G25 and heel toe shifting.. Using a clutch..

He is not unbeat able..

Places where we can make up time:

T1 / T2 Tranistion The faster you can get on the throttle..the better, he hesitates..
The Gyaku Bank curve.. He messes up the roll of the car in the corner.. If you can get the car to roll better there you can make up 100th (I know thats where I make up on him..

Anyway, I don't think I'll do better than this:

I'll take the wooden spoon for now :) 1st 10 laps and it's got less grip than a baby oil covered Hippo on a waterslide :p

58.313 for now .. but I'll be back ;)

My T2 is actually better than the guy with the top time, but once again, I messed up on the last corner (and a bit on the one before the last).


Looks like we're going to own this board if we keep it up. Great laps right from the start, guys. 👍
 
Well I'm fussy and this combo is not for me .. added tcs on 1 and got a 58.217, done with this one and its horrible slippy ass :p .. cya's next one maybe :cheers:
 
C'mon, Ron... the NSX was far worse, this one is actually fun.

I can tell because no furniture has yet been harmed. :sly:
 
A really good car/track combo for me to get used to the wheel with... not cracked it fully yet, but happy with my 1st run...

Improved just a bit.
Probably my most frustrating lap of them all, as it has a T2 of 39.431, when I've passed there with a 39.196 on the previous lap.
Totally screwed that sector on that lap.

Why do I only get the last turn right when I'm on a slower lap? :banghead: :banghead:


EDIT: Update on 1st post needed, no times yet.
