The bombs are really effective against big enemies (is it the "seamonster"?).

The backtracking is probably why I stopped. I hate that. Worst game featuring the worst backtacking is Far cry 2

Its the Kayran in Chapter 1. If it doesnt get better after I beat this enemy (if I beat it since the autosave starts me right in the battle) then I will probably just return the rental. I hope it gets bette because I have been looking forward to this game for a long time. It might have a lot to do with the fact I played Skyrim, Fable, and the Mass Effect Series first. This just feels like a step backward to me. Plus the backtracking and lack of freedom is a bit frustrating at times. Plus no sprint.

I also did not like the Far Cry 2 campaign at all. Tried at least 6 or 7 times to get into it and just ended up frustrated each time. Rubberband AI, terrible saves, backtracking, and the list goes on and on.

That's really weird that there is no sprint on 360.

There is on PC. Not sure why they would have disabled that when porting it over.

I am not sure. So you're just stuck walking everywhere? Not even running?
I am not stuck walking but I am sure as heck not running. Its more of a slow jog. So getting anywhere really takes much longer than it needs to and is making the game much longer than it should be.

Finally beat the Kayran last night. Somehow I was able to get to the meditation menu while in battle. Then soaked my blade in oil, added a grindstone to the blade, created and equiped 3 potions then just got lucky. While navigating around the map is still a pain and WAY too much backtracking, the story is getting very good. So now I am finally getting more interrested to see what happens next.

However I think I went a direction with the campaign that I did not want to go.
Only had a couple seconds to decide and picked the wrong person. I picked Iorveth by accident but wanted to join the kingslayer witcher Letho. I think I have the names all mixed up. Now the town is getting wrecked, non humans are dying, and Triss is missing. I was confused with the character names and it defaulted to Iorveth. I was following a blood trail but that brough me to a dead body and then in circles while using the cat potion.

Ah, yes. That jogging is all that is available on PC as well. I thought you were saying you were only able to walk lol.

Now that you have defeated the sea-monster you will really enjoy Chapter 2. The first mission/quest whatever is amazing. Graphically on PC I about creamed myself. You'll know when you see it. I don't want to ruin it for you. Good luck.

I defeated the Kayran right away when I got on yesterday and then played for another 3 hours after that. Not sure how close I am to chapter 2. Hopefully I can finish up the part that I listed as a spoiler above. Looking forward to chapter 2. Sounds like it will be amazing.
