The only bad thing about gt is the players.

I see someone complain because they enter a FGT in the GV 300km endurance because they are lapping Wrx etc and find it boring...

Gt has become about using the fastest car to cream the opposition.. Forget actually driving a competitive car and legitimately fighting for a first place... People just want to blow everyone away... So many threads about what car to easily win... Ever thought about buying the cars you like and learning to drive them properly?

Then I see people complain about the number of skylines.. I for one would happily lose all the supercars and have all JDM cars... This is what GT has always been about... Tuned Japanese cars battling... If you don't like this don't complain, it's like moving next to a railway and complaining about the noise - the skylines were in the game long before you... Actually there are important skylines missing... R33 gtst? R34 gt-t? R32 gtst4? So really not enough skylines.

Lastly, online... Everyone always just brings the fastest car... I imagined evos, Wrx, skylines, silvias, rx7, ae86 all battling but even when I use all the restrictions people just turn up in full blown race cars right on the hp limit and kg limit. I started a JDM Street Car race online and some w***** reckons his awesome in the minolta. This will become even worse with cash rewards..

Players online will ultimately be what kills this game... Everyone will be in the same car and most of the cars will be wasted. The slow (relative) cars are the best and most rewarding to drive... The fd rx7 and Silvia are too awesome for words..

There IS a difficulty setting.. It's in the choice of cars you use and whether you turn on the assists.. Try turning off the assists and using cars like the rx7... You'll get so much more from the game..

I have to disagree entirely! There is only a % of people your talking about and when you say EVERYONE is like how you describe is redic! Ive hosted race nights everynight this week and ive had no problems with any GTP member... the ones who just join and pick there fasted car regardless of the server comments n restrictions are the ones you are talking about and like i say its just a % of the 'children' out there doing it.

Totaly agree with OP.

I love fighting for first place in the last corner.

I don't mind grinding either, I'll just try doing it with a less powerfull car than before.

Ok the online leaderboards would be nice :)

Worst thing about Gt5 is blind fanboys like the OP, this game has no excuse for lacking in so many areas after 5 years, this is the Ps3 flagship, LMAO.

Surely he's allowed to have such an opinion without someone having to drag him in the dreadful "fanboy / FM vs GT"-puddle of doom. LMAO

Serious about a game?? Welcome to the minority. Most people out there just want to smash about and WIN!

Most people out there are idiots and public servers are where you find them.

They'll be gone soon, tho, most idiots have the attention span of a wasp.

Then all that's left will be us and we'll have all sorts of competitive and challenging on the go.

Relax, stick around, it'll get better, I promise.

Oh no, you are here too? Go flaming and trolling on NoGrip again. *ignore list update*

I don't completely agree with the OP, but some points are indeed right.
I could enjoy the game a lot more if there wouldn't be so many ridiculous complains.

Complaints on a forum make you not enjoy the game as much? LMAO, how old are you 2? Don't read them then, they are valid, game is lacking in many a area, cant expect everyone to be blind and say Gt5 is great, it isn't. You can still enjoy it despite faults, I do, but some things are just very poorly done.

What he said :)

Can kinda understand it .... for an endurance race i'd like to spend it in an interesting car that i want to drive .... granted my tastes and anyone elses might differ so it might be nice to at least offer a couple of optional classes for the races .... can't say i'd like to spend 3 hours racing in a basic 350Z just to be competitive in the race when i've had to spend a lot of time accumulating some more interesting and exotic cars through the game to unlock the endurance events ....

I think they just feel like maybe a step backwards in progression.

Agreed!👍 Just like Prologue,it will get better over time.Try to get some races with GTP_/GTRP/GTNDC/KOR members in them, and you will instantly love the game again!👍

You think this is bad, try playing NFS: Shift.

I actually haven't gone online much yet because I totally understand what the OP is saying, and I don't want to go online, end up getting frustrated by games like that, and ultimately give up on it.

You just reminded me that, until I found this place, I'd all but given up on online for Prologue. Now it's the main reason I bought GT5 :D

very sad!

I have not mucked around with the online very much. It seems there are not enough filter options for online play for the host to create a truly competitive race?

Yea, you're totally right. Why would he ever think someone averaging 25 posts a day that are all complaints about GT5 was a troll? Some people, huh? :ouch:

I'll bite.

He was complaining about the difficulty setting and poor designing in the level system, the endurance races are unlocked at lvl30 and you're racing against lvl6 or lower cars, couple this with the fact that the rewards are poor, the endurance races are genuinely not worth doing.

Then I see people complain about the number of skylines.. I for one would happily lose all the supercars and have all JDM cars... This is what GT has always been about... Restrictions. Learn 'em. Use 'em.

I love GT5... However I wont hesitate to slate this game.

Gameplay is great.. I cant fault it.

But how could they release this without Leaderboards...... I mean GT5P was released with it.... We even had the option to download replays!

WFT!

The players have been the best part, for me. There are some annoying issues in the single player game that just don't show up for me online. Damage is there...

As for the car picking problem, it probably depends where you play. I find that joining the lobbies of other GTP members has resulted in a lot of fun and even races. One make races aren't uncommon, nobody's a punter... and for the most part people are in it for the quality of racing not for the "WOO I WINS" feeling. You can add GTP_tyl0r_r and race with fair cars with me anytime, I much prefer that to having people just instantly hop in a Pagani Zonda or whatever (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Edit: Other message replaced. Not worth it, screw it, it's a problem I'm pretty sure will work itself out in a week or two. Sorry mods.

Simply put: I disagree.

Complaining about whacky players online, eh? I take it you're new to online gaming, right?

And you can't really blame someone from wanting to just blast through GT Life the way it's currently set up.

The problem most average racers have is that they believe absolute power (BHP), gives them the right to absolute victory. Well, I'm here to say that intimate knowledge of the intricacies are worth ANY stage three turbo.

Case in point. I was racing my Impreza Super Touring Car (~540bhp, ~1050kg) the ring yesterday, and I had managed to get past the destruction derby at the start, and found myself racing alone with a fully R/M'd ZR1.

The guy was a competent enough racer to keep me behind him, but he was nowhere near quick enough to completely stop me from besting him. On the straights, his car killed mine, and he could easily pull off and leave me standing in places, but on the ring, power like that is of little use if you can't turn corners.

In the end I managed to pass the guy, after forcing him into an error, and I never looked back. Every sector, I was increasing my lead by 2-3 second, and the only time he had an advantage was when he was on the straights. Safe to say, I finished almost 40 seconds ahead of him, I'm unsure though, whether he learned the lesson that day...

The point I am trying to make, is that I did not win the race because I had the fastest car, far from it - I won because I used a slower car, and intimate knowledge. Every car in the game is a tool, it is whether you see yours as sledgehammer, or a scalpel - that's what differentiates us from them. 👍

Please write '.' instead of ','. It will make your post readable.

Disagree.... Worse thing is not having Leaderboards!
Worst thing is no credits for online races. Second worst thing no leaderboards.

Personally I like to blast through the career mode the first time through spending as little money as possible and get all the cars then go back and run the races again in a car that will be a good race. I really enjoy seeing just how weak of a car I can use and still take the flag.

Please post something that requires an ounce of thought, or it will make you look like you have the IQ of a slug. The old " I cannot form an intelligent thought", so Ill troll the poster with the holier then thou write properly BS. You that insecure you have to try and build self esteem by whining about writing on the internet? Pathetic to say the least. I'm not dumbing down my posts for you.
That was not necessary.
It was just a question, and a valid one if you ask me.

If the restrictions allow the Mintola to join, that doesn't make them a "w*****"! The rules are there to make the races competitive. Everyone can bring different cars, but tuned to the same level of performance to keep the racing close and fair.

Any real life race series is the same. If the rules dictate a minimum weight of 600kg, only an idiot would turn up with a car weighing 1000kg.

I'm very sorry if I upset you in some way. I only asked if you could write points instead of commas because commas where there should be points, is really difficult to read.

Oh gawd, another complaining about the complaining thread. Everyone modifies their cars to blow away the competition because the AI is so flippin' horrible that 10 minutes spent driving in and amongst those mindless computer programs is enough to make you throw something through your TV.

The dude's a douche. Joined on the 15th and hasn't had anything positive to say since. But like I said it's much easier to come online and complain than to simply return or sell the game.

But back on topic. Once you go online in any game you're going to find obnoxious players. Trust me these players aren't going to kill the game. Between GTP and the amount of friends that have this game I'm not going to have any problem getting good competitive online racing and I'm sure a lot of people are the same. Heck even back in the GT3 and GT4 days before online GTP was running some great competitive race series. Yeah people are going to bring their fastest cars to race online, it's only natural to want to win but there are ways around it.

Unless you organise with a bunch of people before hand it's very difficult to find decent racers.

I set up an online lobby with the comment "sub 300bhp race cars" and waited with my ~250bhp BMW 320i Touring car that I found in used car lot. 30 minutes of me lapping getting quicker and quicker - one person joined and promptly left. That was it.

However I have also done pre-organised races which have turned out to be excellent - despite me struggling to get anywhere as the other races are far too good haha

You should not be allowed to enter events with overpowered cars. Not even on beginner class. If you had to stick to something more or less in par with the rest of the field, it would be alot more fun to play offline and the hunt for all golds would be more fun aswell.

Online leaderboards is mainstream, and IMO uninteresting. Give us stats, standings, tournaments/leagues, Online events and things like that.
Hell maybe even make the online part standalone from the offline part. Diffrent garage, level, credits and so on. Players should unlock more and more online content when gaining online ranks.

The more i think of it, Gran Turismo Online should be the next game from PD.
