The Worst Turn

Just wanted to know what everybody's least favourite turn is in the game. I think it's Turn 4 (?) in Rome Circuit. The one with the dark grey bricks on the road where you have to go around it in 2nd gear. For some reason I can never seem to take the turn gracefully either on Rome or Rome II. ANy other suggestions for the worst turn in the game?

Last righthander before the straight - that's a +/- 1.5 sec. on hit or miss.. Hates that bloody one...

The turn before the turn that leads up to SSR11 straight. Its that little "S" corner.
Its either don't take it right, or your ****ed.
 
The multiple 90degree turns at Complex String. If you start getting sloppy anywhere in those, you eventually end up a mess. The rest of Complex is just soooo fun!!
 
Since I just restarted GT3 about a week ago, since I don't have any real great handling cars, it has to go with the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca, other than it is the sharp turns at Complex String. :grumpy:
 
OH the corkscrew is by far my FAVORITE part of GT3. Toca 2 has about 4 of these in a row on one of the courses and I love it!!!!!!! :dopey:
 
That Laguna Seca corkscrew can go either way. With a race-modified car, as long as you slow down in time it's actually kind of a riot to go down it. But when I take an F1 car through there, for some reason both too fast and too slow are both a problem. I used to hate the awful hairpin at Cote d'Azur, where you have to go through in 1st gear, but the more I race the Cote, the more fun it is, and the less hairy that turn is.

I forgot about that Deep Forest II final turn. It has the ability to ruin even a perfect run through the rest of the course.
 
yeah ill agree with you on that one. for some reason the f1 cars go crazy on that corner and spin either way. maybe it causes the wheels to come of the ground since its so low and loses grip
 
Almost every person ive seen take the corkscrew come in too much on the inside thus sending them airborn when they try to turn back to the right. I learned by actually watchin the real races on Speedvision at Laguna Seca. They come in wide on the outside then turn down and take the right corner on the inside. Dont try to cut the inside corner when you take that left. Swing wide.

For Rome, hug the barrier on the left of the road, brake down to 2nd, then turn right across the rumble strip on the inside whilst accelerating (unless you're in an understeery car, in which case tune the understeer out if possible).

I keep trying but since it's more than a 90-degree turn I usually have trouble skimming the rumble strip and end up nicking the inside wall with the cirner of my bumber, or I slow down too much and overturn, then have to correct mid-turn and this ends up screwing everything up royally.
 
I'll agree that it is one of the toughest ones to get right - but I drove a fully-tuned Escudo around Rome for the 2hr Endurance race. After seeing it so many times, I had to get it right eventually...
 
How about the chicane on the back straight of Monaco? Not that hard to take correctly, but come in too fast... Also the turn at Swiss Alps after the straight where you have to stay far to the inside or you will swing much too far to the outside.

I love that chicane, chiefly because the AIs don't seem to be able to master it and it's always a good place to close the gap between you and the car(s) ahead, as long as you slow down enough and don't get excited and accelerate too fast!
 
coz its so boring it would have to be the first (or second) corner on the test track :dunce: but being serious it would be the chicane after the tunnel in Monaco coz I can never get it right every time :grumpy:
 
At Seattle Circuit II, the right bend before the squared-off hairpin. I'm pretty wary of that one, only after smashing into the inside wall of it 3+ times I've learned to respect it. The biggest problem is probably the speed you're carrying by the time you get to it, I need to work on my braking points there.

The last turn of Laguna Seca has caught me out a couple times too, the angle of the rumble strip on the inside just seems a little high, particularly in comparison to the track in GT2.
 
If were thinking the same turn... When it comes to that turn in Seattle II, i always drift it right over the rail road tracks and into the next turns with ease.

And for Laguna, I agree, the rumble strip usually throws me away if i try to use it. I lose too much traction while in the air and come back down too hard, which kills tires.

Oh and i think this is my first post... but ive been watching for a few weeks now... bout 94% done, working on some left overs
 
I still find, even after 2 1/2 years of heavy driving, that the 270 cutback left in the back section of SSR11 II is one of the hardest turns to do fast.

Diminishing radius almost double apex, slippery tarmac on worn tires...I hate that turn.

The rest of the turns mentioned in this thread are some of my favorites...
 
Every turn on R11 is the worst turn. But I repeat myself.
 
One GT2 it was the last corner on Laguana Seca which was kinda bad but its gotten better since GT3. I havent really got a worst corner on GT3 cept for the Test Track like Del Sol Man said.

Anyone remember that chicane it GT1 on R11 i hated that corner.
 
SS Route 11's old chicane was a very tough corner, because you couldn't pushing it because you knew if you landed it wrong, youre screwed. The IA Liscence with the Griffith 500 costed me three controllers. (read, slamming them on the floor) I kinda miss that hairpin though, it was the most annoying - and fun - turn in GT1/2

Apricot Hill Reverse. After the long right you head down to the complex of corners leading to the right hander at the start/finish straight. The first corner after the long right is over a crest and out of sight and narrows. For some reason I rarely get it right and either cut it and go onto the grass or go too wide and miss the next right hander. Simple enough but horrible! :yuck:

Not quite, you're on the other side of the track, and I believe you're still thinking about Seattle I.

'Squared-off hairpin' = the last hairpin of Seattle II.
 
What I liked best about the old R11 were the awesome still camera shots at the chicanes, the replays at that track were like eye-candy.
 
What makes it a little more fun is using something with big hp and no TCS so you come flying in there slam on the brakes and power out of there half sideways pedaling the car trying to keep it in a straight line. Would be more fun drifting though.
