About Us:
We started out as a small, specialized tuning garage under the name of T-Spec Garage in GT5 on August 8th, 2011.
With big aspirations to deliver some of the finest tunes for competitive mountain pass racing, we enlisted the help of some of the touge scene's most prominent characters in order to fulfill our mission to become the number one tuning source for street racers. We then changed our name as we broadened our array of setups from only touge so include Wangan, Drift and Track Day setups.

Since its inception, TheCardboardBox Tuning Co. has produced a number of award-winning tunes and served plenty of happy customers in the touge and wangan community.

We look forward to continuing to serve our fellow street racing friends with tunes of the highest quality and performance in GT7 as we did in past games.

That is our mission!

Status Update I:

I figured I'd try something new this time around...

Ya boy here likes to take his sweet time setting these cars for their respective purposes. Tuning can be easy, anyone can drop a suspension and stiffen up a chassis in this game and achieve nominal performance gains. But what I feel people come here for, not just to TCB but to all other tuners on GTP, is for that little something special; The Fine-Tune - that bit of experience and expertise to get the most out of a car. Maybe it's to quell some great fault in handling, or perhaps to accentuate some particular strength.

Here we focus especially on Street Racing themed setups, those on comfort and sports tires; it's a niche in and of itself, as the majority of Gran Turismo players tend to slap racing rubber on everything. Thing is, you can only go as fast as your tires permit so the limits of a setup on sports or comfort tires are lower than those on racing meat.

What I intend on doing with this thread is posting my setups are they progress, not just the finished product. The reason being that I drive these cars a lot while working on them, and even more-so after they're 'completed'. They are constantly evolving as I gain knew knowledge and improve my skills on the road. In essence, they're never complete - that is, until they reach that point in which I'm no longer making minute adjustments to them and they are in a state of ideal balance that the only thing I can adjust is my own driving.

To begin this transition, I will start with posting the current iteration of my Honda S2000. I will be entering this car to compete in F.S.R.'s touge preseason event, which will also serve as a testing ground for making the car competitive in its respective performance class.

Be on the lookout for that setup soon!

Honda's 2.0L roadster is, in my opinion, the purest expression of a sports car; high-revving, lightweight, rigid, and a hoot to drive. With this setup the goal is to make it tossable and stable at high speeds and eliminate as much of the snap-oversteer while still remaining agile and responsive. Stability is key, as this little bugger is prone to aggressive and sudden oversteer.

The suspension is based on Tein Winding Master Mono Sport series of coilovers.

Update I:
  • Currently, the biggest issue is sweeping, crested corners in high 2nd and low 3rd gears in the 60mph range. I've managed to subdue much of the instability rooted in front-to-back weight transfers. The problem now lies in longer mid-speed corners where the weight is sustained on the rear-outside tire for long enough for it to break traction irrecoverably.

Update II:
  • The high-speed instability has been all but quelled. It's still a light roadster, so there will be some of that. The car now eagerly dives into corners and recovers with grace. It has a good deal of control in the longer mid-speed corners, but there's still something to be had. It doesn't hold the long curve at Deep Forest consistently over 55mph, but go in with enough speed and you can come out fast enough to make up for a conservative line. The biggest issue currently seems to be exiting low speed corners with acceptable grip and stability. It's proven itself a contender after a long day of touge battles.

Bery interested in your Midnight theme.

I have Priano’s base tune R34 and 997 tweaked for long Tokyo runs and have a 964 just waiting for some action. Will be testing your tunes out a lot on this track.

This one was so planted at Le Mans 30mins.

My first ever “dry” race in this event. Managed 4 laps FM 6 and last 3 on FM 4.

Lovely handling on the chicanes and Porsche curves once you work out a dab of brakes or liftoff will get the nose in the right direction.

Slenderman's Update #1:
With the latest update the PP values of the tunes i have currently posted have changed. Most of them have gone down a tiny bit which now gives me a little more room to make some newer adjustments as and when i use the cars again.
I will be going over the tunes posted and updating them if i have had to adjust a tune due to higher PP value in the next week or so as i'm away at the moment.
Don't worry i also have been working on a few more cars as well.

Have you thought about linking within the post to the your liveries? Would GTP ToS allow that, linking to another thread within a different subforum if you host them here. I think there's something about linking to external sites or sources, idr.

Slapped this tune on, made a livery (always a must for me) and headed out to Maggiore.
This is one of those tracks that I just struggle with lines and entry speeds..... not with the Porsche. It was so planted and really wanted to go faster than I could drive.
Great tune. Loving everything I've tried from here so far.

Slenderman's Update #2:

Hopefully i will be back to tuning soon....

Snake's Update II

Howdy!

As you may expect from me, unless you're new here, I really take my time with my setups. So here's what's happened in June and what I got cooking for y'all for July.

I recently upgraded my sim rig with a monitor mount to which I've attacked a Sony 55" 4K HDR screen. Sweet! I feel the size, position, and orientation, are excellent. The perspective is quite immersive.

I also have a few cars coming down the pipeline:

  • Mazda Miata (ND) w/ LT1 engine swap 600PP
  • Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 700PP
  • Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion 800PP

The Miata tune should be up in a week or so of this post.

Update: I just got back from vcationing in Florida, and didn't have reliable net access so I never got around to sharing my Miata setup... It's coming this weekend for sure.
