I've been waiting on a livery editor in Gran Turismo since, well, GT2 probably. Now we have one.

I'm going to start recreating some classic racing liveries on appropriate donor vehicles and posting them here, time permitting.

Getting the ball rolling with Porsche. They have a long history of GT and sports prototype racing and more importantly, they've generally always had a popular customer programme so the amount of liveries to choose from is vast.

Kicking off the BMWs with the classic Bastos/Motul from the Group A E30 M3. Was seen on track and also (YouTube) famously on the tarmac Manx Rally.

It's a work in progress until a suitable wheel style pops up on the Mileage Exchange. (the 'crest' at the side of the BASTOS logo has also been stolen from Rothmans until i get chance to make an SVG of the proper one ;) )

Fitting given Dan Gurney's recent untimely death.

Trans Am Mustangs from 1969 & 1970.

It would be nice if PD created some Minilite-style wheels for the Mileage Exchange so i could make them more authentic looking. I also didn't know that you can't use the Mileage Exchange paint chips to colour decals. I wanted to paint the front splitter on the Grabber Orange Parnelli Jones Mustang in a bare aluminium, but i had to settle for a flat-looking shade of grey instead

Another RS200 inspired livery applied to the GrB Focus. This time it's Mr Rally Cross himself, six-times European Rallycross Champion, Martin Schanche as sponsored by Karcher/Sachs. His RS200 had SACHS iconically painted in white on the grill and Shell logos where the front lights should be, but we are unable to do that in GT Sport, so it's not quite as instantly recognisable as it could be. There's also no wheel choice remotely close to the 5-spoke Revolutions he ran with so that element is a bit off too.

Another iconic RS200 livery for the GrB Focus. Belgium's Robert Droogman's Belga sponsored one from 1986. It competed in several rounds of the European Rally championship, but dominated his national championship in it. The scoop on the flank in front of the rear wheels on the Focus spoil this livery replica more than it does on the two i did above and the Focus's front bumper treatment differs greatly from that of the RS200 throwing off the placement of decals. But what can you do.

I love seeing all the different takes on Rothmans Porsche - there are so many. Yours and RedFive's both looks awesome, great work.

Here's mine:

Thought i'd posted this ages ago when i did it, but just noticed i hadn't.

Classic Greyhound Bus.

The Samba is a tricky little vehicle to add decals to so i couldn't be bothered making it too accurate. The roof should really all be blue and the pillars between the windows at the sides black, but everything bleeds really badly when you try and do something which should really be straight forward. If i messed around with the projection aspect i could probably nail it, but since it's a vehicle i'll never use, i didn't see the point. Perhaps if i'm bored one day i'll have another go.

More Ford but from a different era. RS200 tribute livery on the Focus GrB. I've seen this classic 80's works Ford livery applied to the Mustang GrB, but oddly not on the Focus.

This was one of the first liveries I tackled, even before the decal uploader had gone live since it was always one of my favourites, but like mentioned, I did it on the Mustang. I it resembled the lines of the RS200 more so than the Focus, despite the Focus being more of it's spiritual successor.

Anyways, looks great!👍

Another retro Trans Am Mustang, this time Jerry Titus's Terlingua Racing Team example from the '67 season. Thanks to @Mugo123 for the Terlingua shield that i've been struggling to create an SVG for 👍

It's a shame that the AR Torq Thrusts are not available as a wheel choice on the Gr3 Mustang Road Car as it would probably be a more suitable stand in for this early era of Trans Am.

A bit more Porsche now. This time it's the Holbert Racing Lowenbrau IMSA 962. One of the most successful 962's in the models long history. My first time liverying the 919. It's surface space is very different to that of the 962 which makes it another tricky one to paste classic liveries to. I had to add some side and screen 'window' to it to stop it just looking weird.

....and back to Ford. My first attempt at a 'filthy' car. The Ford GT standing in for the 1966 Le Mans 2nd placed Ken Miles/Denny Hulme GT40. I've included tape around the headlights and spotlights where the mechanics would have taped clear plastic film over the lights to protect them getting smashed by stones or debris and probably keep them cleaner before removing it for the night time stints.

I've just noticed this an earlier save of the livery. There's now a bit more 'grime' down the sides and in the front intakes (and radiator outlets) i'd also lost the stripes off the nose due to some layer reshuffling.

I just finished a rothmans 962 tribute on a 919. Very hard to lay decals especially large shapes without encroaching on other areas. Half the decals layed are base paint patch decals. Ha ha ha.
