Just saw in an article the list of events in GT6. Noticed that there's 24 minutes races in several circuits.

I still don't played the game, and I want to know, where's the real endurance races like in other GT games?

All the events there seens short for me.. There isn't a 24 hours real time race in Nurburgring or La Sarthe?

Please don't tell me that there's no endurance races in GT6..:odd:

I'm worried... Thanks in advance.

Ok, I wont tell you anything...
Sadly, the only thing we have now are those ridiculous events... I was expecting to get something even greater than before, with the new lighting system, the new physics and all, but nop. The worst part? The INCREDIBLY fast consumption of the tyres and the fuel makes you feel like an idiot when you're driving in these events. Also, the leader in the race is always racing with some sort of better tyres than everyone else, magically.
The logic behind PD's decisions overwhelmed me. Honestly.

I was enjoying the game, despite the horrible sounds, but then I got to this point in the game where I thought, ok, this is gonna be interesting. And then bam!
I mean, it's enjoyable, it TRULY is in some of the races, but the lack of realism in those events is putting me off.

What the ... that's sad,I can't believe it.

I've had lots of fun in GT4 with my daddy,we spend hours in long (real long) endurance races, replacing driver each pit stop, being tired and everything...

And now we got only 24 MINUTES races? 24 minutes in Nurburgring it's like 3 or 4 laps.. it's..just..not enough.

Now that's a HUGE step down!

What PD is thinking?!

Can we at least create an custom endurance in Arcade mode somehow?

I don't have any kind of ideas to answer that.
I did the 4 hours of the Ring with my father in law for example, and it was a great experience.

I was remembering a really awesome, AWESOME, race I had with a friend of mine from Brazil. We were just testing a few cars in the Nordschleife, when we decided to start the actual race.
I thought that I had left the number of laps on one, but it ended up being three. And it was probably the best online race we had so far. It was on GT5. He doesn't have GT6 yet.

*To your question, yes. We can set the number of laps in Arcade... BUT, we don't have any damage. And I think it was the same for the tyre and fuel consumption. Why? Well...
PD's logic I suppose.

Glad to know about your online experience, principally for being someone from my country! :D

But it's still sad such lack of options and realism in GT6.. Endurance races were the most exciting races in GT series. What a 🤬 logic, really!

I'm glad they got rid of those endurance races, 24 minutes is long enough for any race in a video game. I do miss them a little because they were a part of GT. But most of the endurances from GT5 were long, annoying, and plain not fun for me, also having the shorter races means I can finally complete a GT game.

If they do decide to bring them back, they should be no longer than 2 hours.

That's was expected from someone who doesn't care about any realism or fun..

It's really annoying, long and plain if all you want is complete the game, and don't like real world races at all. :indiff:

Well to be fair, there is nothing more boring that I could imagine than doing a 24h "race" against the current AI.

All races except S-Class are way to short in GT6's A-Spec, sure. But 24h against moving roadblocks? Nope, thanks.

EDIT: Added quotation marks to the word race.

I only did them in B-Spec just to see the visuals and the fun. I always put my driver in a lightly tuned R10 and when he was leading and lapping cars he would end up fighting them endlessly as the A.I repassed him down the long straights then let him back past before passing him again and this could go on for 11 laps straight sometimes.

And then there's the issue of GT6 blowing up some consoles before the game even pre-loads. This is my 3rd and last PS3 (not because of GT6, though, to be fair). It will NOT be tested by 24 hour marathons, B-Spec OR me-spec:grumpy:. Take every complaint about "freezing" you've seen on this site, multiply that by however many players DON'T post on GTP, and now imagine trusting THIS game to re-join a saved race in progress. They'd post replies to this if they could, confirming this, but I just made 15 heads explode.

It's a shame they choose everything but the correct length.

24 hour long races are far too long, even for professional drivers. No one drives 24 hours straight in real life, because it's suicidal.

24 minutes is far too short for anything calling itself an endurance race. There are real life sprint races that are that long.

2.4 hours would probably be about right. It's a long time, and you wouldn't want to have a lot of races of that length. But it's long enough to satisfy the endurance strategists, while being short enough that your casual gamer could do it if they made time for it. If you allow B Spec drivers to alternate with the player, the race only need be maybe an hour or so long for the actual player.

Honestly, endurance races in a game should probably be between 1 and 3 hours long. Anything longer and you have to pause for a toilet break anyway, so immersion is totally lost. No race should be longer than can be done in a single sitting.

I get the point of everyone, but the thing is, at least for me, you need to have the option, the chance, to change it if you want.
That was one of the reasons why the decisions they've made all this time had frustrated me in so many ways. It never was something that shocked me, many times they were little things, but that's the annoying part, details that were fine.
Even Kaz stated a while ago that he did a lot of the endurance races in GT5.

Now, in GT6, I mean, it's obvious that just a little (very little actually) portion of the players would ended up doing these events, but why would you implement a star system in the game if you can't show off that feature properly for example?
And that's when the lack of choice made its way for me.

It's a fact that an Endurance race isn't for everyone, but it was an exciting and awesome section of the game. It would have been even more awesome if we had proper damage and rules, but anyway...
Now we have nothing, even in Arcade mode :(

Yes, the lack of options and customizable gameplay is one of the biggest problems with GT6 unfortunately.

What he said. Finally a post that makes sense and says what I was trying to say. :D:bowdown:

You could create an endurance race in Arcade Mode by setting the laps very high, however, you don't receive any credits or prizes for Arcade Mode so unless you do it just for the enjoyment, there is no point.

I remember in the older GTs, where you get super expensive car after winning an endurance race.. then you use it to enter another (harder) endurance races, and get more super cars..

I could deal with this, since I do it more for fun than for prizes, but the real problem is that we can set only laps,no tires or car damage..There's no sense to make an 100 laps race with only fuel consumption. I don't even still played the game, but that's what I heard.
