My biggest issue with GT3 was that the steering lagged behind the driver's inputs, especially with very fast inputs.
I am very happy to say that in GT4 with the Logitech DFP wheel, the steering feels razor sharp and very realistic. I'm going to have to redo all of my licensing in order to relearn how to drive!
