1. Mazda RX8's horsepower correction
2. Engine sound and exhaust notes improved
3. Skid marks
4. "Improved physics during collisions between cars in Online races" actually meant damage of some form...;)

Well there's the obvious two, trophies and in-game music, apart from that a few hundred unannounced cars would be nice, a few tracks, every episode of Top Gear and basically GT5 being released two years early.

In other words, there's not a lot of point in this thread since they've disclosed what's going to be in the update, and it's too late for them to add anything now since the thing has to go through Sony's approval process, and it's pointless for them to keep anything a secret now.

Having said that, I'd love to be wrong about this...

I hope they don't.
It makes RWD cars more fun than 4WD cars.

RWD have oversteer while 4WD cars have understeer.
if you learned to master the throttle control so that oversteer is minimized and grip is maximized, you'll notice that you're not much slower than AWD cars in slow corners and are actually faster in fast corners.

If you have a wheel its ok but if you have a controller its not so fun.

Some people with a wheel constantly say the profesional mode doesnt need to change and arcade mode should be removed but profesional mode is way too hard when a controller is being used. I have a logitech G25 and profesional mode is great when using it but I use arcade handling with my controller because its too hard. I hope they do make RWD cars easier to control.

@Turbo.
Then put on tsc if you can't cope with the wheelspin.
It's a sim after all and nobody said that it would easy ;)

...without a wheel.

You can't play a simulator properly if you don't have the right tool to play it with; that's not to say you can't play at all, its just you can't play how PD intended you to. Its like driving a real car with bricks on your feet and a 1/1th of a turn lock-to-lock steering rack, you can't be expected to have any decent degree of control to prevent wheelspin or brake lock, so TCS and ABS are kind of requirements, really, it's not like you're cheating, you're just handicapping yourself to make up for the inadequacies of the Sixaxis.

Having said that, you could try mapping the Accelerator/brake to L2 and R2 and the gearchange to X and square, it takes a while to get used to but it makes analogue control and modulation of your pedal inputs much easier. Add a pair of Giotek Realtriggers and its all good, those things are amazing for driving games with triggers (like GTA for example).

I'd like a few more cars and definately a couple more propar race tracks/circuits and not PD invented ones.

Well, the s/r tires are way too slippery...

I don't think PD will include anything else before the big planned fall update, which isn't too far away (although fall doesn't end until December 20). But I hope they add more light to the in-car views, especially on the older cars. Without lit gauges on cars like the F40, it's almost impossible to see revs and speed because they're so dark. But I'm just nitpicking here.

A proper setup menu for the BEST MASS PRODUCED wheel on the market, to include proper clutch play.

G25 owners need some love...

Yeah that would be nice,it`s only a small detail but important as most of us here are using the G25 💡

Are you saying the things will be in patch? or are you want these things to be in patch?

Those are things he wants to be in the patch. I personally hope that custom soundtracks is a part of the patch, but no biggie if it isn't.

I just am glad we are getting something, even though I haven't touched my ps3 in a month with everything that is going on (having a newborn and all :D).

Yeah, the August 1st update will satisfy me until the big Fall update. :)

Fall update.. I am not counting on Damage to make it in before 2009 spring. At least I would love to see Weather and day nigh cycles.

You know I think I'll just keep it simple and leave all the revolutionary stuff to the other fans. The think I would like is for GT5P to support music playback from the harddrive now that it's available. I would really enjoy that and during racing games is the only time I appreciate that feature so why not during this one. Nothing is better to me in a racing game then trying my best on several laps while listening to some relaxing music of my choice. Maybe some light sunrise trance.

Maybe we should start a petition for it, not because it's so important just because I don't think poly really thought about it so they're just overlooking it now.

I really could care less about damage.
But the infamous penalty system gotta be improved or at least some of them gotta go; when did running slightly off the track on Suzuka's 130R for example become tantamount to a short cut.

Japanese 4x4 dominance - gone total BS penalties - gone removal of good/popular events - gone headset support - added better events - added A lobby - added Top Gear test track and daewoo/chevrolet lacetti - added pay per view? *** orf i got utorrent. better tyres? then why start a suzuka 600pp with S1's? better collisions? OMFG needed since GT1!!! I'm in a bad mood, don't make me buy Grid!
