Things to do in Europe

Hello fellow GTP'ers!

First, Mods, I know this has nothing to do with GT5 per se, but I'd like to communicate with the guys here that know me, and they live in this forum, so....please let this one slide .

I am planning a three week vacation to Europe at the end of this summer, roughly the first three weeks in August. I'm 23 years old, and will be traveling with another 23 year old friend, and we have never been on a backpacking-esque Europe trip. I've been on a family vacation in Rome, Florence, Mallorca and Barcelona, but those were more ritzy family trips.

As you guys, well, the majority of you guys are pretty central to the cool places in Europe, I want to gauge interest of things to do. We are both very automotive, and planning on going to The Ring (hopefully to drive or ring taxi), the manufacturer factories and museums in Germany and Italy, and the Valencia F1 race on the 22 and 23 of August. But we need to flesh out the rest of the trip, and I was hoping I could get some suggestions on here to go, how long to stay, what to do, and travel logistics. And if anyone feels comfortable, I'd love to find a few GTP friends to meet and hang out with.

So yea, let the suggestions commence. Thanks in advance!

No good going to a fashion house in Italy, if you wanted to visit Krupp’s museum in Essen Germany, or the start of the revolution in Iron work in Iron bridge which started back in 1700’s in the UK, where I believe if I remember right (I was a mere lad way back then) after reading about Krupp, he made a visit to Iron bridge to see the world's first cast iron bridge was built over the River Severn at Coalbrookdale in 1779.

Adam - Sounds like a nice idea. There alot of stuff to do and experience.

First - You talk about the 'Ring Taxi'. I would look and check this asap. As I understand they are booked up for a long time. Check now and you might get a space. If not there are car rentals and you can drive yourself.

When your in England, I would check out BTCC. I know you like racing and the British Touring Cars are damn exciting. When your here in August they are at Snetterton, Knockhill and Silverstone. Worth a check out if I was you 👍

When your in England, I would check out BTCC. I know you like racing and the British Touring Cars are damn exciting. When your here in August they are at Snetterton, Knockhill and Silverstone. Worth a check out if I was you 👍

Just to point out, Knockhill is up here in Scotland 👍
But yeah, the BTCC is well worth checking out. It is great if you like high octane racing with good drivers who like to play fair smash each other out the way

Monaco might be an interesting but very expensive day - supercars all over the place and you could check out the GP circuit.

Unfortunately not. German rental companies, including all the 'Ring specific ones, don't hire out to anyone under 25.

Good call on the BTCC though. There's also the DTM on at the Nurburgring GP circuit on the 16th August, and the Le Mans Series at the same place a week later.
