Hello, everyone. I've been away for a few months, and a lot of stuff has happened since then.

The main reasons I left were because of my grandma and my school situation.

I've become so bitter towards the bureaucracy of the public school system. For a long time, I was given the run-around after they lost some of my course-completion files. Some of you can probably imagine how insane that would cause anyone to become. Luckily I sorted things out and am picking up my diploma today. I missed the start of the regular term of my college because of it, but at least I've figured out where I'm going and, no less, how I'm going to pay for it.

More importantly, my grandma has been going through some heavy times. She has idiopathic anemia, and, in the past, would sometimes have her immune system attack her red blood cells. Anyway, her hematologist gave her hydrocortisone to manage the condition. Unfortunately, since this crippled her immune system, her kidney developed a tumor which grew explosively. It was crazy. She had to have a nephrectomy, a major surgery when compounded with the removal of the tumor. The cancer also metastasized into her pleura, the lining of her lungs, although it is small. So, she's been doing chemo and recovering from surgery and everything. It really sucks to have someone in your family suffer so much. She seems to be slowly recovering; she's more normal even though she says the pain of the metastasis is incredible. So, anyway, please pray for her.

What time I've had I've put into learning, reading, studying, and being involved with Ron Paul stuff. I guess that's paid off because I got to meet him and talk to him last night and he is really really cool.

This has been one of the busiest times of my life, but I guess things are working out quicker than expected. Maybe I'm returning to some normalcy. Maybe I'm just learning how to deal with everything. Whatever the case, I think GTP is important enough to try to spend at least some time reading. I like the diversity here and how great a news hub it can be.

I suppose it was good to take a break after all.

That aside, good to see you got that sorted out, and yes, the public school system is special. Very special :indiff:

I hope that your grandma continues to recover. If the chemo is bothering her stomach and she has nausea, dried ginger or most any ginger based stuff tends to help alot with that.

And congrats on meeting Ron Paul. I imagine that had to be interesting.

Welcome back, sounds more like you've learned to manage with life, rather than it getting easier again. I've found it never really lets up, you just get use to it more and more as you get older and actually deal with it... unlike half the drunk kids at this college that just party away. So, enjoy GTP again with your new found time management skills!

I'm sorry about your Grandmother. I wish her the best and a speedy and complete recovery.

And what is the deal with you for school now? Are you going to jump in late? Will you wait it out until the semester?

Good to have you back man, you were sorely missed in the Current Events section.

You may be happy to know that Ron Paul has a pretty big following up here at Aquinas College, one of my classmates being some kind of campaign manager for the area. I hear the AQ GOP is debating who they want to support, but as I understand it, its pretty heavily split between Rudy and Paul.

Still, good to see you back!
 
Nice to see you back, buddy! Sorry to hear that you had a stressful summer, but am glad to hear that it's somewhat under control now. Take care of your grandmother, I wish her a speedy recovery. :)
 
Welcome back 👍 Sounds like you've had alot on your plate and it couldn't have been easy to sort out the everyday things (like tuition fees) when you're also have to cope with seeing someone you love going through such a difficult time. However, it sounds like you're coping just fine and I wish you and your grandmother all the best.

So what's this Ron Paul stuff? Are you campaigning for him or what? Have to say that Dr. Paul is relatively (if not totally) unknown here in the UK, but I guess that would change pretty quick if he succeeds GWB!
