Ok, they say it's going to the PC. And, as many of you have said, the possibilities for the game's future, as in gameplay and upgradability among others, are able to be expanded.

THINK ABOUT THIS.....Gran Turismo ONLINE

Think about it, getting online (most likely would require a DSL or Cable connection +) and racing against real people, AROUND THE WORLD.

You may think it's impossible, but so were many of the things we do in the computer world today were "impossible" not so many years ago......

I myself think it would be interresting, and very enjoyable. A large install yes.....Needing a Really fast processor, and great memory, maybe. But with the availability in the computer world today, and things becoming for reasonably priced......I myself can see the possibilities.

Think about it!!!

Well... I don't think that "Online" play is really a factor limited to the PC version of the game. Talk of GTN for the PS2 supporting full broadband connection for online play has been talk for quite some time.

Some advantages you would see on the PC is much larger Database of cars to choose from, additional effects, previously leftout due to the PS2's limitations (remember, it's easy to forget, but the PS2 is a console.... ;)), and perhaps additional tracks....or maybe even a track editor (that would be cool...)
 
That's true, I'd love to see some other cars available that where left out of previous versions. And maybe some larger more complex tracks..... I just think that with the PC, more people would be apt to play online..... I don't know, just a thought.
 
I agree, I associate online play with my PC, not my PS2. I still haven't played THPS3 online yet...probably because my computer is about 100ft from the PS2. ;)
 
I just hope that they build the game with a powerful PC in mind, so that the graphics can compete with those on the PS2. I realize that creating a game that only a small percentage of PC owners can play to the fullest extent can deter sales, but that's what 640x480 mode is for ;)

Possible, good idea

but I would probably not buy it. I just like the idea of using my big screen TV and sitting on the couch or my recliner playing with a dual shock, not a keyboard or wheel.
 
Sounds like a cool idea. I was thinking about Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero online, start clans etc., but GT3 would probably work better with leagues and stuff.
 
I voted and think it would be fantastic!! I would absolutely love to play online and since I got a new PC a couple of weeks ago would love to put it to good use!

Online GT via PS2 would be just as good if not better coz of Dolby Digital and Big TV!!
