we're waiting for the PS4
fishtailrook1 (?)
my PfatS2 has been giving me trouble, not only with games, but some of my DVD's. I went out today and bought a replacement...one of the new slim units.

I got a royal suprise when I hooked it up and got it running. not only were things clearer, movies included (i could actually see film grain in an older widescreen), things are loading-and running- faster. GT4 and Tourist trophy no longer need constant minor steering corrections on a straightaway (and the bikes don't flop on me the minute I begin to lean into a turn.) my gameshark disk is loading for the first time in ages, my ARMax loads a HUGE codelist like RIGHT now. even RE4 finally looks properly colored, like I've seen in Gamecube and Wii vids in walkthroughs (my fat unit left everything almost exclusivly shades of brown).

is that normal for a slim to have an increase in performance?

I know the time it takes to get to the main menu on GT4 is about 15-20 seconds faster. I actually didn't notice this until the SFGTP LAN, where fatties and slimmies were turned on at the same time.

Woah, hey c'mon now, don't need to call us fatty :P Yea, I had no idea the slims were a good improvement, makes sense tho 👍 PS3 Slimline....anyone...Bueller?

yeah, but I'm looking for confirmation from fat to slim console owners that they've seen improvements.
